Park Crews....

Update:

Jut went to stratton and the park crew guys were sick. They thought hey lets work on the jumps when people are usually eating, and lets do it one jump at a time. I had the best day of skiing in the park i think ever. I really got comftorable with nollies and everyone was cool and wasn't antisocial like in NY. I would do anything to ski Stratton, i feel that you can't compare the park crew there to the park crew here in NY. At belleayre where i ski they are just dicks not cool and antisocial. It's fun progressing and no one cares if you fall they don't judge you. I crashed at least 4 or 5 times trying to get down nollies into 180's over shoulders. I am looking in to a stratton or mount snow when i can drive there. I don't want to ski Belleayre, NY again.

the park crew at my mountain is pretty low key. I didn't have a park pass so I was ducking the rope until the next class session came around so I could get one. And one of the crew came up to me and was like, "Do you have a park pass?" and I was like "uhh, no I don't." and he was like "Im just kidding man, I don't give a fuck." And he rode away.

park crew at my mountain is so chil. the head of it is this 40 year old guy who snowboards and tries to hit stuff. he's getting better. but hes so sick. we have storytime tuesdays and thursdays where he just tells us all these crazy fucking stories from college and highschool. I guess im lucky.

yeah thats how almost all the boxes are at one of the local mountains here. its fucking crazy. everytime i would it it i would always slide to the right. i dont even think they have a park crew. and if they do i never saw them

at my home mountain the park crew isnt too bad. rake out everything at the beginning, middle, and end of the day, and if a feature is really getting beat up or isnt right they'll fix it up. they put up new features and re arrange stuff every week. and they switch up the jump line 3 or 4 times during the season. besides that they just smoke and drink in the bus all day like a park crew does.

My park crew has 8 guys 3 of wich are HardCore skiiers. So, i say I am super happy with my park crew. One time they were closing up and saw me just coming down. one of the skiiers in the crew said you wanna come in i said ya and i was the only one in the park it was sick. Thanks POWDERHORN PARK CREW! YOU GUYS ARE SICK!!!!!

Copper's park crew is super duper chill, and usually really nice. Although the stuff they set up sometimes doesn't work or doesn't make sense, they're pretty good about keeping everything nice and bombhole free.

At least you guys have a park to shred we have a park at my mountain and all the jibs are homemade and really shitting and the park crew(which is one guy) is a drunk piece of shit that cant make a simple jump with a landing. one morning my first run of the day was through the park to see the changes, there was no changes, but i found the park crew guy passed out on this shitty jump with beer in his hand. I want to get this guy replaced but no matter want i do they wont....fuckin sucks.

my crew wakes up at like 4 am. to open the park when the whole mountain opens... im sorry dude this sucks.

yeah but my friends and i have secertly built our own park in the woods on a trail that we cleared out ourselfs and we built some raisl and hauled them in to the woods when the mountian is closed we also built some big hits and tree jibs. Only a couple people know where the location is and about it. The park is keep a secert if not the person that spilled will be shunned. But we have hiden it well because if someone follows our tracks into the woods it leds to a bunch of snow fence and barb wire and as signs that say closed area ski patrols only and people stay out.( we stold the signs and snow fence that the ski patrol left out) so its pretty sick and does the job just fine

well early last season they opened the park, and it started off with a little kicker before the entrace......so they end up having to close and im about to ride in a hit the little jump and then this fucking mental retard putts the rope up just as i jump....next i get fuckin close lined because i tried to duck and i get yelled at

The park crew at Sunday River is pretty chill. They take runs through the park once an hour and definately make sure everythings all good. Yet, they yell at kids for the stupidest thing. Like I was hiking and I held on to the rope that seperated the park from the trail and the park ranger came over and flipped out and was like "WAS THAT YOU" I was like yeah, and then he proceeded to scream to me that I'm messing up the rope and if it falls I'll have to put it back, and he'll report me. I was like okay. Also, I think sometimes Sunday River's park crew is on drugs. They put up the best features one week and the worst the next week. I was there one week in February and everything sucked except for the flat bar, and then I come back next week and they've got the dopest park.

Anyway here's a funny story about park rangers at a ghetto ski hill.

Shawnee Peak in Maine is about the ghettoest mountian around. There's a teepee for blazing and the park rangers don't do shit. So anyway this one night I was seshing this flat box in the kiddie park. Out of the woods presumably from the teepee comes the park ranger. This guy is blazed out of his mind. I've never seen someone so stoned. I take a hit on the flat box and do a blind swup. I hike back up and the park ranger tries to convince me I'm doing switchups all wrong and to do them you lift your back ski in the air move your front ski 90 degrees and bring the ski in the air down so your skis are level. So I try his retarded technique to please him and eat shit. He then takes a shovel out of the woods and try to tell me that the lip of the jump is why I ate it. So he fixes that for 5 minutes and then takes a hit. He goes for a 2 on butter 2 out. He eats so much shit it was easily the worst I've ever seen a non gaper fall. It was so bad the gapers in the park pizzaing down the hill were giggling. So then the guy is clearly embaressed and does his trick and leaves. And then theres the time a 40 year old snowboarder with a kid strapped to his back on a backpack tries to boardslide a box falls on his back and messes up the kids face. ahhh

Exactly! kids don't understand what some resorts have to go through liability wise... i mean alot of places have real bad legal fights against people being stupid in terrain parks and getting injured. People should listen to the closed signs and respect the Park crew and there work, im park crew at my mountain (seven springs) and i hate when kids cruise through the park hitting closed features, and and duckin fences.. But the worst thing is when i roll up to a feature i just shaped, threw urea on to harden, and some kids threw my rake or the x mark i put up aside that i designated obviously that the feature was closed! This would be the only time i would pull a pass though.. if a kid was cruising through my freshly shaped park not hitting features but just peepin. i would definitely be mad but i would only warn them not pull a pass and if it were we that would ruin my day and thats not what park crew (most) are all about.
