Park CIty today

hey, does anyone have and information regarding the park city NorAm competition? I am just wondering if it's still a go or no? I've been looking at the webcams, and like no snow making on the pipe, so just wondering, it's in two weeks or so.

Well, since i'm always the bearer of bad news, chalk this one up. The president of the resort has pulled the plug on opening the features tomorrow along with not opening three kings lift. So don't come up expecting jumps and don't get mad at us for it. We haven't been given a specific opening date, just maybe later this week.

^^ I'm liken the new park set up a lot. The down barrel is super fun and the wall rides especially are more fun now and make more sense. Well done.

Ya, sorry.

The low isn't supposed to drop below the mid 30's tonight from what I hear, and there is a chance of rain tomorrow so I think it's a coverage issue they would like to resolve before opening the lift and then having it rain and wash away some snow.

But, have fun with homerun, we are hoping for lower jonesys in 2 - 3 weeks.

Jumps on silver hollow. town lift opens today for uploading and downloading. bonanza opens tomorrow with limited runs. jonesys is expected this week but not for park use. i barely got to work this morning... so i'm going to go up and get some proper use out of my skis. finally!

Yea so has anybody seen whats open tomorrow at PC. Look at there blog. Basically all runs off Bonanza and Pioneer lift not to mention the runs on frontside that opened today.

Yes the snow has been good to us.

We are planning to open the following terrain for tomorrow (Sunday):

Bonanza Lift:

Homerun

Bonanza Run

Muckers

Belmont

Crescent

Silver Skis

Mid-Mountain Run

Pioneer Lift:

Sampson

Comstock

Red Fox

Hawk Eye

Woodside

Mid-Mountain Run

Flat Iron

Shortline

We will possibly open Thaynes Lift mid-day tomorrow with service to the following runs.

Keystone

The Hoist

Thaynes

Double Jack

We are hoping to have Silverlode and McConkey’s lifts open within the next week.

In addition to the terrain opening, the Summit House will open tomorrow for the season at 9 am with snack and beverage service. A limited food menu will be served from 10:30 am until 3 pm.

As far as lower Jonesys park, it's a wait and see with more snow. The more snow we get the sooner they will turn the run over to us.

yea riding thaynes when it was first open today was ridiculous. It was like waist deep and there was so much untracked snow.

Whats the word on the pipe? It looks like you guys are working mighty hard on that thing. I've got beers waiting for you if you get it open this weekend.

ha ha ha, there is alot of snow up there but not enough yet. It won't be open by this weekend, but the guys on the crew will take any offer of beers...

Jumps n stuff...

I'll post a news article about it tomorrow, we will be doing the handwork tomorrow so it will be easier to get pictures.

The pipe got it's first cut and then the cat broke. It is too warm to blow snow right now, so we can't make snow for picknshovel right now until this storm rolls through. rather than say here's a date we are thinking, i'll just say stay tuned because it all depends on the weather...

Jonesys? that opened already. Pick is the small park, and will be built accordingly this year. Crown is the medium park and will have varying features, and jumps from 20 to 50ish. Jonesys is the large park and Upper will have large features in there. As for specifics, don't know yet. sorry

Not exaaaaaaaaaaactly. For people that absolutely blow at pipe(me) It could be very helpful in the process of learning new tricks!

hahahahah 10 ft long.... although they could make like little sections of pipe randomly that'd be interesting, like the green things in amped. basically sideways quarter pipes... hmmmmm.

sweet, mini pipe is good. that means i don't have to put on a pair of depends if i want to try to get better/ride pipe.

I don't mind the jumps just because the only one I can hit is the first one...The mini pipe blew big balls though. WOW.

wait wait wait... mini pipe as in mini half pipe? haha, where is it, and why? other than that, how was it today? Anyone got details on the set up?

Mini pipe was sick. So much fun to learn tricks on. The park was set up very well today. On 3 Kings the top right was rainbow box then butter box then a flat rail then finally a down box. After the down box it's like a 10 foot table then the mini pipe. The jump line afterwards is super fun.

For those of you who moved here this year, I guess i'll just make sure everyone is on the same page. Pick is the small park. Crown is the medium park. Jonesys (when it gets snow blown on it) is the large park. I've heard a few rumors going around about different runs this season, so that is what it is. it is what it is.

Word, i know that, it was just kinda disappointing that the 3 jumps on silver hollow got taken down and there was nothing really comparable set up to replace it. That being said, I know you guys have your reasons for doing stuff and I'm sure you will have more stuff up soon and we just have to be patient.

well, we have the jonesys jumps which are bigger than pick. But it's been flip flopped this week, the people that should be in a small park are in jonesys and vice versa. Due to holiday traffic we had to take out homerun and silver hollow. That darn christmas/new years tourist time comes every flippin year...

That being said, the crown is looking good, they have the first 4 jumps roughly shaped in. the hip is half way done as of 30 minutes ago and the rails start moving on wednesday.

Sometimes there is just a gap as far as jumps go and there isn't much to do aboot it eh.
