Park CIty today

thanx, j we need snow in huge quantities as soon as possible!i´ll be arriving there by mid december hope we get lots of snow and the park ready!

park city is currently a joke.  We have ZERO natural snow.  Way to ghey to even think about going out right now.  Although I did pick up my pass...but I dont plan on going out till we have at least a flurry.

^ wow your a true skier, skiing is skiing no matter what. just go out and have fun skiing and stop complaining, and fyi PC is pretty fun right now

I ski 100+ per yr...it is bad here right now...2 trails open not worth it at all...just stating the facts.  I can see the resort from my kitchen.  And there is no point in playing human pinball.  I am happy that you are having fun though.

When you get hurt, you'll appreciate skiing a LOT more...I can tell you from experience. Get out there while you can.

yeah, all my friends are out jibbing right now but my knee is way messed up and i just have to sit inside on ns all day and look at the snow. it sucks.

idk what oldskewl is talking about. PC was only crowded on friday and its

totally worth it to hit what they have up. I had a blast today because

any kind of snow is worth riding. That's cool if you wanna sit at home

it just makes it more fun for the rest of us who enjoy every aspect of

skiing and snowboarding.

i love when west coast kids complain about snow conditions...there is no reason to complain be thankful you have what you have and that ur not on the east coast

^^^ true but were not on the east coast. if you lived on the west coast you would even be disappointed with this winter so far atleast we are supposed to get 7 + inches tomorrow

^ considering mountains in north carolina, colorado, and a lot of the east opened up before utah had one run open. i guess thats a reason to bitch, buttt it was funny as shit today

sure it makes you "appreciate skiing a LOT" more, but im pretty sure i still like skiing just as much now as when i started. last season was the first time that i was fully back on snow (the year before i was in north carolina, skied twice there and blew my knee for the second time, hte season before that got cut short in january when i blew my knee out at mammoth)...believe me , ive had plenty of downtime to have dreams of being in the whiteroom again. this past season i finally got to do it again, a bunch at that! skiing on an epic day is amazing! epic can totally be left open for interpretation, it might have been epic today for some people on the hill, being able to lap the park on a nice highspeed quad...no hiking anymore right !?! but for me, i have absolutely no desire to go mess around on those things, ill leave it to you. i dont need to get my skiing fix EVERYDAY anymore i guess...just to go up to the hill every so often, hit up some good, quality, runs, grab a beer, sit in the sun, and soak up the whole ambience. whats important with that routine however is to get up there when the snow is at its best. that way you can cut out all those slightly annoying things on the side (flat light, rain, ice, etc). with all of that cut out then you can focus on the joy of skiing way more. skiing in 100% perfect conditions is awesome, and id much rather leave it at that.

its the same with a ton of other things. some people refuse to drink shitty ass beer and stick to micro brews. its all beer in the end, but there is DEFINATELY a difference. same here. if i had a choice of going to pc today, deal wth a huge amount of people all crowded around the rails, icy spots all over the place sicne its manmade, longlines @ the liftl, traffic jams going up and down the mtn etc...or wait a couple days and go skiing on a day wehre i dont have to worry about shit except how i should celebrate the PERFECT couple of runs i just had...id wait. oh snap! what do you know, i did have that oppertunity to go today...but i, along with a bunch of other people who call themselves skiers stayed home.

again to add to that, ive racked up around 12-15 days so far , and each one of them have been killer. perfect bluebird skiing everday.

I just posted a new news post under the park updates with photos. Also, just got back in the office from installing a couple new features for tomorrow...

And it was so not crowded today it was hilarious.

The sketchy early season conditions are a pefect time to get back into the swing of things. The icey, rutted groomers just keep your head in the game and i think it a good time to go back to the basics. It's all about preparing for later in the season so you can rip the epic conditions that much harder. Plus, there's are sorts of cool little side hill hits.

ya it took me a while to get back to everything especially with new skis but now i feel better than last year it just taakes a while to get back to it

I skied 100+ days in Indiana... why? Because I like skiing. It

doesn't always have to be epic out. I know people have their personal

preference, and some people only go when it's incredible... but the

features that are set up are so much fun. Living somewhere like

Indiana and skiing a 350 vert. hill with a park a third that size

makes you respect it so much more. The conditions yesterday would have

been a pow day at home. An average of 24 inches of snowfall all winter

compared to 500 here.

haha yea seriously, I think Brandywine/boston mills claims to have 240 vertical drop but I'm pretty sure they added up the vertical from both places so it doesn't sound as lame.

I'll use this thread instead of creating a new one... There has been vandalism going on up on the hill the last couple nights. the ropelines down a couple of runs were sliced, i'm missing an entire bundle of bamboo poles and I wouldn't be suprised if someone has been in my shacks, but I haven't looked yet. If anyone knows who this is, let us know please.

Also, I've been bitched at by almost everyone I ask to not ride first time up to access the park. It's not a request I just made up off a whim. If I keep asking you guys not to do it and you continue to do it, we lose the homerun park. I had a brief meeting and that's what I was told. Please don't use first time. I don't care how long the line is for payday, that's the lift that needs to be used to access it for the time being.

Thank You.

I think that Park City has really steped it up this year, they are working really hard and they are openeing alot of terrain quick and just keep adding new set-ups, i really like it!!!!!

did anyone notice those jumps they built on the run coming down from three kings lift. When will they be open?

Not quite jumps yet, just mounds. I could see the last one being a decent jump, the rest look like they may just be for rails.

oh, and my guys just got off the hill, we tore everything out of the homerun park. The new and improved park opens monday monday monday. MONDAY. which means i'm hinting that it's not crowded on mondays.... so come ride...

gahhh i want to but this is the last week before finals week and i need to do work. be there weds for sure though
