Park City Moutain Resort... horrible i think so

im just mad because im not a smack talker and wasnt harming anyone i do have a pass so what difference does it make if i went through the othere line? i was heading up to the upper mountain and wouldnt have seen her anymore that day.
 
I was driving my car just 20 over the limit. I was heading away from the city, the cop wouldnt have seen me anymore that day, but I still get a ticket.

It sucks dude, but those are the rules. I guess you (and I) wont be breaking them anymore, or atleast getting caught.

DOOD after reading this thread I can tell you're another stuck up kid who thinks he is #1 and is above everyone else. You'll learn when you grow up that being nice causes other to be nice back. Also you will learn that people aren't trying to be dicks/bitches by doing their job and pulling your pass because you went in a line you weren't suppose to be in. I know what its like to be bitched at, when i was at the open i got bitched at for a whole chair ride by a ski patrol even though i did nothing wrong. But he was just doing his job, and when you have 300 kids who just ski around as fast as possible, usually switch (which is quite fun) they get frustrated and annoyed. You may have been treated unfairly because she was probably just pissed off and could have let you off with a warning, tough shit. Once you get over yourself, you'll realize you're not the only person in this world and you don't get what you want all the time.

You guys totally should have seen the situation, and I'm talking about Tom's... not Schlopy's. Tom was skiing down, and ollied a fence that was already sorta saggy from getting hit with lots of snow. The SAFETY patroller guy (yeah, with the yellow vest) immediately came and took his pass, then his reason for taking it was "You had a bad attitude" Tom's response "You just took my pass and you expect me to be OK with it. Then when we were all at the bottom chillin with Tom he said something like "Don't come any closer.... you're all in trouble. I don't like your attitudes". Ok, I know he shouldn't have jumped the fence, but the guy didn't need to be an asshole right off the bat. The patroller was totally one of those cliche power trip guys that you imagine. He gets on his phone and says "We got a situation here" and has tom excorted off the mountain on a sled.

BOTTOM LINE: The whole thing was sorta absurd. He shouldn't have jumped the fence, but I've seen patrollers do much more logical/polite about a similar situation. If they were respectful and told him not to do it, gave him a warning, and said if it happened again his pass would be gone I'm willing to bet he'd be respectful back.

 
wait safety patroller, like the volunteers? Cuz the volunteer people (at least at copper where I worked for a month this winter) can pull you over and ask for your pass, but you can just ski away they cant force you to do anything.

although it is dick for the patroller to say he doesn't like your attitude when you could've just skiied away from him.
 
ya the safety patrollers at pc are BITCHES. they stand by the 'slow down' signs and scream at you if you're going faster than the retard on snowblades in front of you. then they chase you down and try to take your pass.

as for tom and alex. that fucking sucks. those safety patrollers are dicks to everyone, even kids like adam battersby who really could pull the 'do you know who i am' card. hahaha. so gay. and all you kids bitching about us complaining, if it were you who got your pass pulled you'd probably be bitching too so don't be assholes.

This lifty shit is BS. If the lifties at Baker could pull that shit, I'd get a lawyer and sue them! Ski resorts ALWAYS lose by the way, because they have deep pockets. Call it "breach of contract" when you signed on with your season pass, because im fairly sure it doesn't say that lifties and patrol can pull your pass for anything off a whim.
 
I'm sure what you did might have crossed the line... but the PC lifties are pretty lame. Most of them have no clue.

I don't see why the bird doesn't have a real park... that way we wouldn't have to deal with the poor customer service at PC.

 
Going through the lift line has absolutely nothing to do with the 1st amendment. It's about freedom of speech, not freedom to snake lines.

Season passes are purchased at the beginning of the year, at a set rate. If you pull peoples season passes then it doesn't harm the money making process, and it may actually help it by requiring the passless person to suddenly have to buy a day pass or go somewhere else.
 
Have you ever sued a mountain? Have you ever sued a city? They ALWAYS lose. My dad worked for a city full of stuck up rich people, just as what I hear PC seems to be like, and people would sue for the littlest shit. One example would be this lady who lived next to the city hall. She had a mole problem and she comes to the city hall with her lawyer saying they had to pay because the moles came from the city property and were, "city moles" haha, she lost that one but only because my dad wouldn't let her have her way. If you don't believe me about the sueing thing, google it.

but really, everyone who posted against scolpy(sp?) is generally older and don't ski the park, and are pissed of becuase they have shitty jobs at the resorts.

I mean seriously, resorts need to think about this, tourist give them the 70 lift ticket once a year if their lucky, but the kids who roll though the park everyday wil buy full priced season passes for the next 40+ years, which is worth way more than any stupid tourist. we're talking about MADD bank here, so pulling a park rats ticket is the dumbest business move ever, and it creates a bad image in our ski community.

haha, you're right, I can't believe that mountains haven't caught onto the fact that they'd make more money if they pulled passes indiscriminately. It's not like people might be discouraged from buying passes in later years, because there's no way they could possibly be angry for more than a couple months.

Also, about cities being sued over many things, it's because they're fucking cities. There are hundreds of thousands of people all looking for a way to make a little money without working. Cities etc. have massive amounts of liability simply because of the amount of property they own and the great number of processes and services they provide/are involved in.

Other dude is right... when you buy a lift ticket it pretty much voids anything, that's why you can sue so easily if you get hurt without a lift ticket, which is one of the reasons ski areas are so anal about people skiing without them. Not only are they losing money, but if you get hurt you can sue them. There are so many things that cover ski areas asses from lawsuits. Think about how many people get hurt at a ski area each day..... I'm sure the resorts have put enough time, money, and brains into their passes/lift ticket system to avoid getting sued.

When you buy a lift ticket or pass you are saying you're held liable from anything from the "Responsibility Code" to hitting a tree, to any injury. I just read from the back of a lift ticket, and it's pretty damn thorough.
 
Meh, I don't blame her for taking your pass... no matter who you are. To them, you're just another guest of the resort. That's right, a GUEST. I work at Bear Mountain, and liftees here get a cash incentive to catch people MISUSING their passes in any way; whether it be using a Non-Holiday pass on a Holiday weekend, or using the express line without having the proper credentials on your pass. While it may suck that you got your pass taken away for purposefully using the express line, from the liftee's perspective, they're doing their job, like the resort wants them to do (to avoid loosing money) and she's getting rewarded for doing her job. Cut the chick some slack, had she just given you a warning, I'm willing to bet you would have done it again. Now that you're getting raped for it, I highly doubt you'll try the same thing again.
 
i love how you assume they are comparing the assholes in park city to those in the east. no one gives a shit. it is a given that the east sucks balls. maybe they were comparing to snowbird or something in the area of park city.

Sigh, let's not be ignorant. You've all heard about people sueing companies and places for the littlest things, and as for the first amendment? It applies to ALL places in the U.S. (except possibly indians rez. or embassy's) The first amendment was more in response to the "bad attitude" thing saying that he has the right as an American citizen to have his bad attitude, so long as he wasn't trying to fight the guy. I said the city mole thing because I didn't want to be unfriendly, but I guess some of you guys aren't capable of having a discussion without getting feelings involved.

About the pulling season passes, I was saying that pulling passes does NOT help, because they lose a skier/ boarder whos pissed about getting their pass pulled, and then I guess at PC theres that incentive to pull passes, which is just piss poor.

People don't work at ski resorts for the money, it just won't happen.

Dude, I totally agree with Schlopy and Tom, Park Cities lifties are a bunch of HIV infested cock riding cheesy faggot ass bitches. I ski at Park City and the lifties treat me like shit. In additon, I heard they put a new guy in charge of the parks this year and he is a douche bag too. He makes the gayest decisions and has made park cities park sick at times but mostly gay. Like one kid i knew went up to him and told him to fix the park's jumps because they suddenly got really really flat landings. The guy in charge of the park said "we are number one, you are the only person with this problem" he totally blew him off. Fuck him and I hope he dies of ass cancer or something. Also three weeks ago park city had a bunch of rails set up but they took them down for some little ski race and havnt put any of them back up. Their so danm lazy. The jibs they set up at jonseys are half ass also. If you hit the wall rides you will slam into it like a wall. Dosnt the park crew notice that no one is hitting them? Guess not. They dont fix it instead i saw them painting them and they painted one rail babey blue. I dont fucking care what color the rails are shit dick park crews. I just wanted it set up good. To conclude, they keep on taking out and moving rails around which were fine as they were to begin with. They should put their work into good use and not take down the flat-down-flat and the hip and put in a gay step-up into a drop off thingy (some things park city just couldnt really fix because of shity snow conditions) other than that they have mostly done a gay job.

guys. I vouched for all of you at the beginning of the season when safety patrol was picking out only the twin tip skiers. And you go and do this. You decided to do something stupid. Live with the results. and, if you do happen to do something like jump a ropeline, which you should know they will take your pass for anyway, don't be an ass to patrol. none of us are out to just look for shit to take passes. but if you do it out in the open where everyone can see, you're asking for it. Come on guys, don't be idiots up on the hill. terrain parks don't own the mountain. it's about everyone. there is give or take all over the mountain. so don't act like you own the mountain because you are a park skier. you may ride a top rated park, but a tourist that doesn't ride the park doesn't care. they spend their money just like you spend your money. don't harass people in the lift line. everyone is here to ride whatever terrain they like. and from what I heard, you started freaking out on alicia and yelling at everyone. unless that was one of your buddies or one of the other people caught sneaking through fast tracks. just play by the freaking rules. it's presidents day weekend. it's going to be busy. live with it. for those of us that work at resorts, we aren't out to be assholes, but the way some of you people act and get beligerant and start yelling and swearing at us when we have to do our job is bullshit. It doesn't do any good and it just makes things 100 times worse.
 
hey jackass. there is more involved in not having rails on payday. there's no snow there. did you notice all the gravel when the park was there? there isn't a new guy in charge of the parks, he has been there since 2002. the park crew knows about the wall rides. we told people about the wall rides. we can't shovel a wall ride higher. no one hit the hip, it wasn't maintained well, we asked for 2 more jumps and that's what we got. don't bitch on here about us. send an email if you want to express your opinion.
