my fuckin parents wouldnt go out tonite, even though i told them i would be home at 10, how fuckin stupid is that. which brings up another point, being the oldest child sucks too, im 15 and i am the first born, my parents dont know what the hell they are doing as far as parenting goes. by lil bro is gonna be able to be more independant, which is good

dude chill out im in the same position as you, im a little older but the first born. Both parents are alcoholic so it makes it a little more difficult. in 8th grade there was a class trip that they wouldnt let me go on but they let my brother go on it this year, so you just gotta suck it up and use it to your advantage. get in a few fights and blame it on them. and if you get cought smokin pot, its always their fault because you 'didnt know what it was'

you don't have it bad at all. My parents aren't bad, and I actually like them, but I know people who's parents are worse. Just be thankful they care enough about you to not let you get your way all the time. They aren't beating you, and they're feeding you so live with it, because you couldn't live without them. They know what they're doing since they too, were teenagers at some point in time.

this is really funny! i used to think that way about my parents and how much they were really out of touch. i then realized how much freedom i have compared to my little brother and sister. when i was their age i was allowed to do so much more. here's the reason why, if your parents start lecturing you because you fucked up, take it! don't fight back just take it. the more you show your parents how responsible you are the more trust they will have in you and the more freedom you will have!

Yeah, I'm ElasmoSkiChick. I'm seventeen. All I'm saying is that kids and teenagers now seem to have very little appreciation for things because they're getting so spoiled and have very little dicipline or house rules. I work at a toy store. I should know. I see kids cry and scream all the time and parents who are in there at least once a week just using their whole paychecks to make their kids 'happy'. Just eight years ago when I was ten, kids my age were nothing like they are now. It just seems like parents care less and less. Either that, or they're just too busy working or worrying about their kids hating them to notice what's really going on. Personally, I don't see the problem with a little dicipline. If you do something wrong, you get grounded. That's how it should be. I personally think that kids/teenagers who have parents who do enforce rules/use dicipline will respect their parents much more later and appreciate things much more, as well as be better parents in themselves in the future. I can understand being mad for a couple days because your parents wouldn't let you go to some big party, but saying they're sucky parents because of it just seems to be pushing it. Sound like somewhat reasonable parents to me. I know many many years down the road when I'm a mom, I won't want them going out and getting completely shit faced all the time. There's more to life than JUST that in my opinion, although it is fun to trashed occasionally.
