how do you people going to camp convince ure parents to send you to camp? mine are all worried ill like die, cuz ones a doc the other was a nurse. so how can i convince them? they want me to learn something from camp. they think skiing is unsafe. help! thanks

if they bought your twin tip skis..tell them if they didnt want me to succeed in the skiing industry they wouldnt have financially aided me in my early years of new school skiing

dude im 13! no one will even employ me! all i can do is mow lawns and do other yard work, which only pays off my skis! see? i do have to work for my shit! i gotta buy my own skis and other ski shit. they pay for most ski passes and ski clothes.

i have a professional mobile dj service, i am 14 now, i've had it since i was 9

thats whats paying for most of my camp. coc ses. a

i have to pay more than half

and my parents realize how much i want this, and what a big part of my life this is ( it was surprisinglt eay to convince them)

just present them with all the research on all the camps and flights and everything, coc has a great parents FAQ and stuff. its a good site-campofchampions.com

yeah my parents are worried, but they know i'll be ok

and i'm going with a 17 year old.

it'll be worth it. i hope, i really hope. it really was not easy for my family to get the dough for this. we had to take out loans and stuff. i wish i was a rich ski family as opposed to a skier in a poor family.

I'd be so rich if i didn't seed myself to camps for the last 4 years, one summer i spent 4 g's of my own cash going to camp.

just tell them you can either be trying backflips and shit in the middle of the bush somewhere where you'll most likely break your neck, or you can go to a supervised evironment with tons of people who know what they are doing, teaching you how to do shit properly.

im only 13 but im lucky my dad owns a landscaoing company so i can work 4 him. im still 2 poor to go to camp though

Yo, go get a job caddying. You'll start out making about 35-40 dollars american per round. Then once you get experienced and carry 2 bags you make 75-100 dollars a round. Plus no taxes and they pay you cash on the spot. You can start when your like 11 too.

Also just tell you parents why you really want to camp. You can also explain how they teach you safe jumping techniques so you dont screw yourself up next season at home. SO actually camp makes you a safer skier.

good ideas. ive tried caddying at some places by my house. they wont pick me cuz im tall but pretty lanky. so most of its just sitting. but yard mowing is picking up! my neighbor is old so i might do his this summer.

My mom feels guilty since I spend my whole winter racing (for her) and teaching (so I have cash) and dont get a lot of time to spend on my own skiing... But I also go to a camp where there is a race program and newschool and part of the deal of me goin out is that I race in the morning and then im allowed to freeski all afternoon as long as I TRY not to hurt myself since I am VERy accident prone...

try and give your parents all the facts adn dont pressure them into making a decision right then, let them think it over and talk about it.. u never know maybe they would rather save the money sending u to camp and take a family ski holiday for 3-4 days somewhere to try and undersatdn ur love of the sport better... My parents are divorced and my dad/stepmom dont understadn the sport at all and thier like maybe we should go away for a weekend next season all together and get a feel for the sport... So you never know..

Or if your parents ski, instead of asking for camp which is really expensive ask if you can go away as a family at some point next season somewhere you know theres a good scene but also good intermediat trails for your 'rents and sibs... Just a thought

just say that if you go to camp you will learn tricks step by step in a safe environment and you will learn to be safer and all that stuff yeti said

 
I never got to go to camp when I was 13 (or anytime for that matter). . . you'll be ok

i had to choose between freestlye and aerrials, i went freeride. i wont regret it, COC will be more fun than placid would be, i bet.

my dads a doctor and he didnt show the smallest bit of worry... I just told him that like you have to try the shit first into water so I'll be fine
