Parents found an empty flask...

yeah kids seem to be hitting the bottle at younger ages every year, its soo wierd when your friends younger siblings come home hammered at like 11pm and they are like 13 and 14 years old. I mean im not all about respecting the drinking age and shit but 13 and 14 seems a little young to me

i had a similar problem. io just talked witht eh rents about how rediculous college partying is, and how its better that i know my limits before i get there. (this worked cause my bros buddy who didnt drink before college ended up in the hospital 3 times in his first week there). seriously, if they have any sense the must have expected it, and will realize that its best for you to know the scene before you get dropped into it.

try walking into class after spending recess blazing wiht your buddies.

weird when the teacher asks you something and all the attention is on you and how fucking high you are..

well your dumb. You know why the drinking age is 21? Because that's when people brains are fully devoloped. And when you drink as a kid, it can really mess up parts of your brain, forever. So good luck

You're both fucking dumb and both don't deserve to drink if you don't know your from you're. But I don't get what's wrong with drinking early. I started drinking at about 14 and where I'm from (Toronto), that's pretty standard.

well, the reason it's not good to start drinking early is, and I quote, "You know why the drinking age is 16? Because that's when people brains are fully devoloped. And when you drink as a kid, it can really mess up parts of your brain, forever"
and yes, that is true.

you're a pussy. the drinking age is 21 because Reagan withheld highway funding to states who didn't raise the age from 18 to 21. 21 is clearly bullshit, and a waste of police resources tackling underage drinking. if you're brain isnt fully developed until 21, then why can you vote and carry a sniper rifle in the military when you are 18. as well, the drinking age is 18/19 in canada and i think canadian adults are completely fine.a lifestyle based on junk food and laziness probably does more harm to you're body than getting drunk once in a while when you are 17 or 18 ever will.

I would say be open about it thats what i do. And if they really arent that strict they will just want you to be safe so promise them if you ever need a ride youll call them. If your gonna be out super late drinking tell them this and see if you can make ride plans/ sleeping plans.

advice worth listening too, its that easy. don't fret, it sounds like you're a good kid with good parents

be honest. tell your parents you like to drink on occasion and say that you are safe about it....

no driving etc etc etc.

if you haven't been in trouble for drinking and they haven't caught on yet then HOPEFULLY you have been being responsible already. so just tell them that... as long as it's not affecting other aspects of your life you should be set.

my parents found out i drank when i was 15 they didn't care. i mean they would always tell me not to but it's not like they did anything about it. alllll of myf riends have consumptions except for me and i'm 18 w/ a fake and everyone says out of every1 i should be the one in most trouble, but i'm not cause i'm responsible! so there ya go. be wise kid.

i want to respond, but reading your posts is so frustrating that i cant

strict not strick lol

and seriously, "turst"? lol

the issue with drinking early is that alcohol has serious effects on an undeveloped brain (the brain tends to fully develop around age 24 for most people). every piece of legitimate medical research suggests that alcohol destroys synapses, which are pretty much the key to brain function and learning. furthermore, children's brains aren't even developed enough to make rational decisions regarding their own health and well being. drunk or sober, the prefrontal cortex, the area that controls reasoning and impulse control, isn't developed until the mid 20's. so that would be my argument against drinking early.

Believe me, my highschool brought in all the speakers too. It was my choice to start drinking young. Just like you take the risk when you go skiing. I could throw a ton of facts at you about brain damage and deaths that happen in skiing every year, but is that gonna stop you if you enjoy skiing?

hahaha seriously. but i love how the dude bumped this thread 5 years later to tell him his grammar sucks haha. classic ns

dude gotta get some more control. you're the boss in the house, don't you let no woman talk to you in a way that makes you feel bad

same thing happened to me except with all my glassware, its a real surprise when you see it sitting out in the open.

i agree, it's 100% a choice, although a choice that kids really aren't able to make rationally. but there IS a problem with drinking early because every semi respectable neurologist knows that it really does wreck your brain.

and as for skiing, drinking by definition permanently harms your brain . skiing just hurts when i send a 10 foot jump like 45 feet and you do it wrong.

yeah, but the risk in skiing isn't as apparent as it is with drinking. I would be impressed if you could even make an argument comparing ski deaths vs alcohol related deaths. They aren't comparable because there's no age requirement to go skiing, as there is with drinking. There's a reason there's a drinking age and you can live your life the way you want to, but true maturity comes when one realizes their full potential by making good decisions about their health and their future.

Dude are you retarded? Why do you think there is no drinking age in some parts of the world and every single place other than the US is lower than 21? Its because they teach moderation. Yeah maybe you can get fucked up if you get shitfaced every day when your 12. Heres a question for you, what part of your brain get messed up and what happens to it? Im guessing from you not saying it in ^ you dont know. Also if the drinking age is supposed to save our minds from basically alcoholism, why does the US have the highest rate of alcoholism compared to the rest of the world.

Thanks for notifying me this thread was old... i was about to give him some advice but i guess he is legal now..

say the truth but if you are worried about the consequences and think they might believe you say you were holding it for a friend

Funny thing here. If you are 21 and have been drinking for a good 4 or 5 years everything will be pretty normal. Then the people who are 21 and haven't drank ever before get so wasted that they embarass themselves and end up puking half of the night. So I personally believe that it is better to start when you are younger, just don't be an idiot about it. It seems the people at 21 have a less develpped brain when it comes to drinking for the first time.

my parents just found my weed and they took it away but they are not that mad because i am doing good in school and im a good lil boy :)
