na, im a lil drunk but it really fucking pisses me off. Like that type of shit is for fucking bad.

The parents hide behind the veil of "ima make a career outa helping my kid grow" but end up posting clips for a whole decade of their kid.

like can we go back to the days where we are just rebellious kids, who find NS, who build a community here by just being super into skiing. Thats all I want.

I want my childhood for all other kids, I don't want imposed expectations, I want freedom for em, let em be.

9 times outa ten parent ran accounts are for kids who are great skiers but to young to have social media. What's wrong with that?
 
I get what ur saying but it’s situational. Some dude was on here not long ago posting clips of his kid because he was stoked and wanted to share it with people. He also asked for tips. Seemed pretty genuine to me
 
It drives me nuts when they do it in 1st person like they are the kid, you ain’t fooling nobody. If the parents are taking it that seriously guarantee the kid quits before age 20
 
Also if kids are under the instagram age limit people will try and ban them for it. the age limit is like 13 or 15. I had a friend that had like 10k followers then their account got suspended for being under age so they had to put ran by parent on their bio.
 
Idk if I'm just getting older and more estranged to internet culture or if it's actually getting worse but, Instagram has been a vile place lately. The like farming and the shit talking in the comments section seems so much worse than it was 5 years ago. It's time to pack it up and leave before the brain rot gets terminal
 
wait hollup I just went on a huge rant - are you talking about parent supervised accounts or retarded influencers creating account for their kids and forcing them to do social media? if it's the first one, you're saying kids should just be allowed to do whatever they want and parents are bad for having a role in their kids lives?

I respect my fellow oldheads (maybe im there yet) posting clips of their kids to us. We are a smaller community and its fucking awesome to see alot of grow up. Shit Katarina and I have the same job, like I support this.

Skierman is kinda right. Hate to say that but scott is kinda right.

monetizing your kids is fucked up, and idc if you don't even make money on it. The attempt to do that shows just bad parenting and not understanding what your kid is about.

As a gen zoomer that has gotten my brain rotted by instagram I honestly support social media bans till like 16-18 years old. And seeing the gen alpha ipads kids I think the problem is only getting worse

same. unfortunately for my dad I kind of got around it, and although sometimes I am annoyed by it I still agree with him. like I don't even have safari on my phone. it's like disabled off of my phone. will probably do the same for my kids because I don't want them to be brainrotted coomers.

He also said that if I don't pay for coaching then I must not want it enough. I said fuck that and found some local dudes that fucking rip. Also got a good industry homie to write up a training plan for me.

It's pretty much the ski version of the get rich quick influencer scams instagram is full of now. The guy is a sick skier, but that shit is so wack and not what skiing's about imo
 
I loved dealing with these types of parents as a coach.

"Why isn't he progressing more?" I don't fucking know, maybe because hes 8 years old and just learned how to ski two seasons ago??????? I'm sorry you're too cheap for lessons but have enough money for academies. People just expect their tuition payments will get their kid somewhere.

I really appreciate parents who actually know how to ski and didn't just move here because "We own a second home" or "We've been visiting X Y or Z for this many seasons."
