PANTS with small cuts

My new pants have some fucking little cuts after only 2 days of riding !

Do I need to patch my pants and with what kind of patch ? I don't even know I sliced my pants like this !

Happens to just about all pants. Small cuts you can usually get away with, but I had a pair of burton pants that got so cut up that they were getting huge chunks of snow on the inside of the pant, but between the liner of the pants, and I had to patch them. If you're going to patch them, get some rubber backed nylon.

If they're just little cuts in the heels and cuffs of your pants, don't worry about it - it happens, whether you're falling on rails, hitting hard snow, or clipping them into your bindings - it happens.

If they're bad and you want to do something about it, yes, you can duct tape them, but I feel like that would look shitty on basically new pants. What you should do (and remember, this is if they're bad) is take duct tape, tape it from the inside (yes, this will require work, because you'll need to get the duct tape inside the outer lining of the pants - that's what tore) and seal it; then sew it up. I did that on my pants and haven't had a problem with the big ol' rip I had since. It'll take some time, but its worth it.

In the meantime, just make sure you're not clipping your pants into your bindings. If you want and you think its legit, you could go Ian Compton steeze with the pant cuffs rolled up - I do that at rail jams.

Eventually you'll find what works best for you. Good luck!

Someone once told me that by pulling up your pants/buying that right size of pant will help to eliminate most of those tiny cuts from the pant leg getting stuck between your boot and binding. He must have been joking though, that would never work in a million years.

I have a pair of ott's that are holding up super well. I can't say the same for my retarded burton pants that needed a huge patch because I was getting chunks of ice between the outer shell and the mesh inside.

My patches will never fail. My mom got some rubber backed nylon(similar to what jackets and pants are made of, just burlier), and she double stitched it on there.

I had to duct tape my pants, i had a huge rip, and i just taped it up, but it always fell off, so i wraped duct tape around the base of the leg. it actually doesnt look half bad either.

I have some oakley pants from this year's lineup and they're perfect after 3 days. They seem to have ramped up the quality quite a bit over the past couple of years. All the zippers and everything work flawlessly and the material has some weight to it. This could be somewhat of a rare experience though because the model i have (special op) is quite a bit more expensive than the other pants oakley makes. I'm not certain whether or not higher price=better quality when it comes to oakley.
