So, i downloaded the movie (yes there is another thread about it and how it isnt out yet but i wanna say my two cents) and it is really good. a story about a girl and her mother who go to live with a general army guy who is the girls new father. she is found by fairies and they send her to do things. i wont give away the ending but there's twists and stuff and its made really well. it has to have twists, its a labyrinth right? i give it 4 out of 5 stars definately

anyways yeah it was good...there wasn't as much fantasy stuff as the trailers led me to believe...and it was pretty brutal...

but well-told, good acting and an interesting story
 
was there a lot of violenece/gore. im in the mood for something good but i don't like tons of stupid unecessary blood and stuff.
 
It is a great movie, in my opinion, probably the best all around movie of the past few years. It had a good story, with good twists, good points of learning in the movie. And nothing about the movie looked cheap, just an all around quality production, i'd give it a 5/5
 
It has some brutality, but it is not excessive by any means. It is not a movie where that is made to be the essence, like a lot of contemporary shitty horror movies.

Instead, it takes the time of the post Spanish Civil War (which was fucking brutal. Picasso painted Guernika just to show the horrors of it, amongst other things), takes some of the essence of the guerilla war, and you get immersed in this fable to show this girl's troubled world. It's pretty damn good, and the visuals are excellent.
 
its pretty violent but unlike most movies which use violence to excite the audience this movie uses it as a tool to create an audience fearful fo the world created. the violence is neccessary.
 
such a good movie...the acting/imagery is rediculous and the plot is kinda odd but really good. Highly recommened, and no its not a movie little kids should watch, its pretty violent/depressing. The captain makes a good villan.
 
I downloaded it too, I wasn't overly impressed. I dunno, it just didn't have anything that really stood out, maybe it was the subs that didn't do it for me.

Did anyone else think the Departed wasn't that good either?
 
Violent yes, depressing no. If your depressed after its over, watch it again, you missed something.
