So what's the deal. I haven't skied there in probably 10 years. Does anyone ride there and would you say it's a good mountain. I'm interested to hear if they have any dope off-piste terrain and whether or not their park is any good. Any nightlife in the village?

With RCR being lame, I've been forced to look at other weekend skiing alternatives.

I just saw that Kicking Horse and Panorama have a snowmax ski card with 4 days of 'free' skiing for $129. Pretty sweet.
 
you'll definitely use those four days at kicking horse but when pano gets good snow taynton is a pretty good time. there are some good steep trees in extreme dream as well. however, its usually icy so you gotta pick your time there according to snow.
 
that is a wicked deal, im gona get one of those, go twice and u pay it off, pano is decent if they get a good dump, but i would probably spend all 4 days of that at kicking horse
 
I just found out that the snowmax card for Panorama and Kicking Horse has blackout dates between December 20th to January 6th, so DON'T buy one if you're planning on skiing there over Christmas.

 
its a great mountain

i went for spring break, its awesome,

last year they had 2km of terrain park

although i wasnt that good last year, they had lots of dope features
 
true, maybe you think that panorama sucks because you werent there when they had there big dump of snow.

i went there last christmas and we had 115 cm of snowfall over the whole trip

it was fun and we made a jump in the backcountry
 
I raced there and rode there until last season when I went off to Whistler and College. I like it. The groomers are probably the best in the area, and with RCR out of the game this year, it is possible they'll have the best park as well (maybe COP will beat them out). They usually suck at making halfpipes though, and dumps can be few and far between compared to pretty much anywhere else. The upside to this is that few people looking for pow head to pano, so when it does snow the fresh sticks around for a really long time, espessially if you are willing to deal with some tighter trees. No lift lines either, except on Alberta holidays.

Can't go wrong with the terrain at KHMR either though.
