Panasonic TM300 to Mac (Final Cut)

Hey so my dad just bought a Panasonic TM300, and after filming a bunch of stuff I am having trouble importing to my macbook. The files are .mts files, that only windows media player can play? there must be a work around right? How do I import and edit these files on a macbook?
