i was wondering if this cam tops out the sony vx2100 and the canon gl2. i dont want to match prices or anything i just want to know like overal is it better or anyone that has personal information on it would be great. just post some comments on it.

Start by checking out the cnet.com review for basic information, and go from there. Google.com works damn well too. It's the camera I would buy if I had tons of money and the time required to learn how to use it properly. I also believe it's the new standard for shooting skate videos, but I could be wrong on that.

that is the camera i just bought

the ag100 blows the doors off the vx series, and is a step above the canon. Best in class image quality, excellent LEICA glass (ask any photo person about Leica lenses and glass, they can tell you, its some of the best you can get)

full 24p shooting, great focus and zoom with detatchable servo motor

get the A series, the first one is the agdvx100, i purchased the 100-A, which is the 2nd generation model

Hibachi King drops 9/9/04...and it shouldnt suck! hah
 
ya when i was lookin at it i was like holy shit it has a leica lens?!?! i had to like re-read it cause i didn't think that it would have something like that on a camcorder u know, but ya thanks alot for the help, can you attach like a fisheye lens to that, i know it has a wide-angle, but can a fisheye still go on it? and can u i guess like turn off the wide-angle

First off you can get a screw on fish eye lens, just make sure the lens matches the size of the camera lens and the fisheye adapter just screws on. Second of all you cant turn off the wide angle lens. What they mean by a wide angle lens with the dvx100 is that it can shoot a wider shot most other cameras but if you dont want as wide of a shot then you just zoom in a little.

Yeah - whoever said that the DVX100 is the new standard for skate videos is right. The only downside to it is that the lens is fucking huge so you'll be paying more for filters or add-on lenses. If you've got the cash and really need something this good, go for it. Otherwise check out a used VX1000/2000 or GL1/2.
