I know there are a bagizillion threads on cameras but i was looking for this one and couldnt find it on here. Does anyone know if its anygood for shooting skiing?

if its from panasonic, and it has 3CCD technology, get it, best film quality (second to HD which is useless for another year) We have the 24P camera at school, super high quality

Yes I would prefer a VX1000 over that...you should be able to find one in decent condition for that much money too...

oh sick a have only a 500$ mini dv cam

keep in mind that the vx-1000 has no lcd screen and it is a relativly old camera. finding a new one will be impossible. however, panasoics and sonys are both great cameras and i think they have better image quality than just about anything else. if you can save up some extra money i would very highly recomend the panasonic ag-dvc30. it is a relativly small 3 chip that takes an amazingly clear picture, and you could probably get one for 1500

there was a dvx100a that went on ebay for $1490 I almost bought it but got outbid
