Panasonic af100??

lookin at these early film cameras with interchangeable lenses for a second cam to go with my hmc. wondering if anyone on here has any experience with then it lens/fish eye recommendations to go with.

You'd be better of with a gh3 IMO the af100 was sort of a half assed version of the sony fs100.

alr. i was looking at it cause it was relatively cheap compared to another hmc or hpx and i could get the scene files to match up with my hmc. plus i figured there might be some nice fish eyes out there for it

The thing is, the af100 only does 720p60 and 1080p30, which is similar to the hmc/hpx but I think you could match a gh3 for much less, same lenses. Only thing the af100 has over the gh3 is built in NDs, unless you're getting an af100 for less than $500 id look into the gh3.

Second what eheath said..it's a cool lil setup but a gh3, cage and fish is practically the same price, and going to give you better quality vid. Chris from [tag=121345]@860media*[/tag] used the af100 in a bunch of vids prior to gh5

thx. was just considering one cause i don’t wanna deal with p2 and i’m too cheap to get premier. Plus i found one for only 5hundo. plus i wanted another cam. Ideally i’d like to get a 4k servo cam like a HCX1 or UX180 but can’t find a used one for a low enough price i’d pay

AF100 is super rad cam, but if I were you I would go Gh3 or something of that sort. The quality is great and its a heck of a lot smaller/user friendly hahaha.

Also..... the AF100 can record in 1080 60p just doesn't record sound.

That's right, over cranked only maybe? Either way, it was never that good, I remember when it first came out and I almost bought it, but then the fs100 came out

Oh yes….so it’s a real pain to shoot properly haha. Like you said the fs100 and fs700 where like the better versions of the AF100. I believe that the Sonys they came out a year or so later.
