Painting Yo Room

I have lame ass wallpaper in my room thats from when I was a little kinder. So I've decided to paint my room. I'm thinking of doing an olive green color but I haven't really decided on anything. I have sexy brown hardwood floors and cheap brown ikea furniture. My parents don't really give a shit about what I do. I have no art or painting skills. Anyone have any suggestings on color or tips or anything would be appreciated. Inspirational pics would be dope too. Thanks NS.

olive green would look like shit, go with dark green if the hardwood floors are dark, or if their light go with light green / blue

get madsteez to paint it

yea I just looked up some pics of olive green rooms and I think dark green would look better, they are dark wood floors and the room is poorly light

If you go for dark green, your room will look very small and be even darker.

I think your best bet is like a slate grey or light grayscale color or white on the walls and white on the ceilings.

This will make the room look lighter and bigger.

And more clean.

Have fun trying to get the wallpaper off. I spent an entire weekend removing wallpaper from one room before we rented a wallpaper steamer and did another room the same size in a couple hours.

Post a picture.

^^well it depends. i worked for like a month renovating this building from like the 50-70s or so, and i ripped some square-meters off that fucking walls and sometimes you could say "ripping" and sometimes "scraping". it has a lot to do with type of wallpaper, how they were fixed and of course how long they were in place.

My condo is about as close to an "olive green" as you can get.
One thing that is fairly conventional with interior decorating is to have a feature wall. Paint one (or two?) of your walls in a (usually darker) shade of the original color (you can see a bit of this in the pic, the wall behind is entirely of the darker shade). Make sure you use good quality paint and rollers. Best thing to do is ask the people at the paint store for tips and techniques. It's really not that hard though. Good luck.
