Painting ugly skis

taking a page out of the [tag=195966]@cydwhit[/tag] book and painting smash 7’s that i have no love for and i probably should’ve burned cuz they ski like a rotted out 2x4

1) sanded with 80,140,220 grit on an orbital sander

2) taped bases

3) grey krylon primer

planning on doing black with some red green and teal stripes sorta like 80’s lasers but not really. it’s hard to explain but it’ll be majority black

todays progress

gonna add a green stripe below the teal and then probably add a center stripe and maybe some geometric stuff

also want to leave either the tips or tails grey but i can’t decide what one

and yes there’s a lot of red overspray but it’ll get another coat of either black or grey on top of it so idc rn

it has been wayyyy too long since i worked on these but i finished up a few minutes ago. gonna put the bindings back on tomorrow

the red to gold fade was a last minute decision but i kinda like it. i was too indecisive about what to do so suggestions from friends/family said do this and im happy with how it turned out

those clap cheeks, looks great for spray paint. Did you just do a spray paint clear on top?? Let them sit out in the sun for as long as possible, if you screw bindings in now they'll probably settle into the paint and end up sticking really bad

yeah they’ve got polyurethane clear coat on em. and def gonna let it dry so it’s not tacky at all when i put the bindings on

Op has a nice ass slab of granite as a counter top. Working on my Earth science packet rn lol

Now would that be a igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic rock?

Most likely igneous because there isn’t banding like granitic gneiss would have, and that’s metamorphic
