Painting shoes?

what kind of paint would I need to paint some shoes?

It kind of depends on what the shoes are made of, (i.e. cloth/leather/synthetic), and what kind of design/ effect you want to get, but pretty much any kind of paint would work. I definitely wouldn't suggest oil because it is expensive and pretty toxic. Acrylic or spraypaint would work, or even gouache. If you have canvas shoes, fabric ink would probably work the best.

If they're just regular shoes w/ leather or w/ever, then spraypaint would look sick.

spraypaint would look like shit. spray paint is not the answer to everything. unless you were going to spray your shoes one solid color, spray paint would be useless. if you want to change the color of your shoes, then i recomend dying them. you can get dyes for different fabrics and even leather. im pretty sure they make inks for specific fabrics as well you could probably paint or illustrate on your shoes with. what are you trying to do exactly?

Color different parts of my dunks and add some handdrawn design.

when i painted my shoes i used little mettallic paint pens, it worked really well because you can use way more detail and then afterwords i sprayed it with leather shoe protectent so it wouldnt scuff off.
