Painting boots

RIT dye will look better but you will only get the color you want if your boots are white. Paint usually doesn't look good unless you really do your homework and take your time.

That works on plastic?

Very much yes. If you search there is a thread of someone who showed the whole process. Color came out a tad weird since they were dying a colored boot already.

Validdd, yea I got dark blue so idk how much I could do with dye. I was thinking doing a primer, paint, then clear coat with rattle cans?

Sick, but yea I can’t imagine how well it would work on some dark blue ass boots

Ya not at all most likely. Would probably turn them dark purple or black.

I can’t remember the original color of the boots but I remember they turned out like a weird maroon ish color. And it wasn’t what he was going for if I remember correctly

Honestly if I figured out the right color the dark purple would go kinda hard

ideally I’d wanna go pink tho

anyone know what pain stripper is safe for the plastic, trying to blackout my revolvers, acetone does jack

Acetone also isnt safe for plastic. And what are you trying to strip off? The plastic is dyed not painted

Who's that scando dude that paints his boots pink? Seems like he just uses spray paint and I think it looks ok from afar.

not all plastics are the same, many are resistant to acetone

PU is vulnerable to acetone. Do not dunk your boots in acetone.

it probably won't do anything with short contact, but it's still not a good idea to put your plastic through that stress.

Has anyone here tried plasti dip? I've been considering it but idk how durable it'll be on my boots. Not tryna waste time an effort sprayin if it flakes off in a few runs but it could be tight cause it sticks to my car's rims well even in the cold
