Painting Bindings????? Help

ok so i have look px 12 bindings that i wasnt to repaint but before is sand them down i need to know if i re-paint them will it work?

1. What paint?

2. Anyone done this?

3. Will it Last?

Well they are for the gf and i know she will not like them she reppin rossi FScratchs and they are brown and orange, and im repainting the bright blue for her
 
Umm never done it but there are alot of paints out there that will stick its gonna come right off where the heel of the boot hits the heel piece. I would say primer then paint.
 
IT was a while back, so i'm probably wrong but I have a feeling EastCoast_destruction painted a set of FKS and would know about that
 
well i left anything that would be in contact/rubbing original color cause it will be covered. I know that there is many paint types, does anyone know a painter i would shot some mad karma and something else your way if i could get some good help.
 
i am a professional painter but im no binding/ski painter.

i suggets you use oil based paint, it dries much harder and has better bondage.

primer is a good idea, do it. also oil based.

sanding dose not have to be hardcore, just thorough, sheen must be broken everywhere, use fine grit sandpaper.

i assumer you are planning on using spray paint. i suggets using a roller, or back rolling (spraying then rolling while its still wet) the roller will help the paint penetrate into every little groove you made with the sandpaper, you can get a small roller (wizz roller) this will be easier than using a big one, and get fine finish.

there might be paint thats desinged to withstand extreme cold temperatures, if there is, get it, im not sure if there is but at the very least dont use interior paint (duh!).

Also be carefull not to paint the binding shut, this could happen if your all sloppy n shit. to avoid this use an exacto knife to break where it would dry the peices together while the paint is still wet. dont overdue the paint in general, for something like this multiple thin coats is better.
 
And I guess I will point out the obvious, as it hasn't been said yet, but should be noted.

Please cover the DIN windows before you paint. Your knees and your ski tech will like this.
 
Everything he said is key.

Biggest importance would be the sanding though because it will help ensure a solid connection between the paint and binding.
 
when i usually paint my poles, which are aluminum, i sand them pretty good, throw on some primer, and then i use a lot of coats of gloss spray paint....it holds up pretty good, and i think poles will get more beat up then bindings will
 
alright my suggestion for paint would be like krylon brand of spray paint and buy their primer i have a pole bussiness and thats all i use it holds up well and like that other guy said is back roll it and sand very thouroghly i hope this helped bro
 
I have a question, has anyone ever taken the plastic cover off of any axial2 series binding and painted it? I'm thinking of painting it the same color blue that is on this years Line Elizabeths. It would be sick but would probably all come off. I know how to take the plastic part off, there is a little button type thing like one that is found on a vacuum shaft.
