hey all, i got this pretty crummy lookin helmet. nothing special. its a Sims Renegade helmet. so i have an idea to paint it with a little stencil i got. how would i go about painting it??

thanks

i did mine last year... great touch to make things original (so dont be painting on a meaningless brand name or something stupid like that). so, it being a stencil the best way to do it is go grab a few bottles of spray paint from a walmart or hardware store and prep the stencil. then i took a plastic bag and taped it around the base of the plastic shell of the helmet (so it covered the ear pads and strap and inside) so that you dont paint them at all cause spray paint will float around and get on everything near by. then just paint it on with a few light coat and do the same with a clear coat spray paint when the colored paint dries. this will keep it from chipping. from experience i think it was pretty key to do these coats even and light and give them plenty of time to dry, otherwise it will fade color or chip easy. should all be good from there. pm me if you run into problems

ive been reading up on the interwebs and alot of people say that spraypaitning your helmet might have some kind of adverse effect on ur helmet and ruin the polyurethane foam that protects ur skull.

can anybody verify this?
