okay so going away on my season and starting to get all the stuff i need, and am looking for a pack for back/ slackcountry, gona have a shovel, water bladder, probe, and just general stuff spare gloves goggles layers, food etc and cant work out what the best option is, considered the heli pack the 11l and the heli pro 20l and not sure if i really need the extra space, plus the cost and the added size. but open to suggestions

By the time you put everything in you will see the 18L and 20L arent actually super big... plus really comfy and dont move around.

and a pack can last a few years so the extra cost really isnt that bad.

I've had my heli pro 20l for 7 years now and it's still going strong.

Definitely go for the 20l pack. If you don't fill it up you can use the compression straps to keep the size down.

But by the sounds of it you won't have much space spare.

Different pockets mainly..

not sure if you can puts skis on the side with the dlx..

but the heli pro gives you the option of diagonal or on the side.

And I like the fact i can fit all my avy stuff in the front pocket of the heli pro and the soft small pocket for goggles.
