PA Resorts

Do any plan to open this week for winter break? I know springs, roundtop, boulder, etc. have been pumping out snow this weekend

It really looks like Springs is trying to open something, because they're really focusing snowmaking on a smaller section of the mountain than usual. Finger crossed for opening in the next couple days.

Blue mountain and camelback are opening on Monday the 21st, and holiday valley ( I know it's not in pa but it's just outside of pa) is opening tomorrow and I'm sure big Boulder will be open next weekend

100%. they already called him in to work. Trying to open two lifts, the beard will be open as well.

I know guys on the park and snowmaking crew and they said that the beard will be complete shit but arctic blast will be good.

so they aren't doing anything tomorrow at all? I was about to come up tomorrow morning but seems like it would be a waste

Don't go until they announce it. Which will most likely be Monday or Tuesday

I know that Boulder isn't opening tomorrow (the 20th) :C

Neither is Camelback but who cares about them...

Anyone near Pittsburgh:

Boyce Park in Allegheny County (east of the city) is opening today from 3:30 to 9. One day only. No idea what it's like, but tickets are only $20.

Going today. Boyce is a pathetic hill, but I have nothing better to do. They at least let you build your own jumps.

*AVOID CAMELBACK AT ALL COSTS*

With that aside 7Springs and Boulder will probably open. Just keep your eye out for them. Blue Mountain is open and they are super cool, but they are also really small.

hopefully they're able to crank out some snow over the next week or so. im gonna be coming back from philly on the 2nd of january and want to hit up blue or boulder or somewhere

Doubt any of these resorts make it till this weekend.

Bullshit. I was just at springs. They went hard with snowmaking over the weekend. They have 30 foot mounds all over the place. They have a huge ass base in the main part of the mountain

Just wait till you see what a few days of 60/70 degree temps, rain, and fog does to some snow piles...

Temperatures at springs will never get that high. The highest it will get is 55 on Thursday. Every other day will be a high of 45. It will also be in the 30s and 20s at night.
