p12 ti vs. regular

question to those who know: what is the weight difference between the p12 ti and the regular p12. I know the p12 bindings are really solid quality bindings, but I have always disliked the weight to them. Are the p12 ti much better? Thanks. oh, and if you have actual data that would be sweet, for example, the salomon 912 ps weighs almost double the 912 ti. Thanks

'can you read what that says?'

'donna simma?'

'yes, that's right. now how would that appear in a phone book?'

'simma, donna?'

'that's right now Simma down na!

i dont know specifically about the p12s, but usually to make a lighter binding, stronger (heavier) materials have to be sacrificed, making the binding slightly lower quality, although i dont know if it will be noticible in the p12s.

i dunno about the looks, but the salomon s912's are about 50% heavier than the s912ti's. reg 912's are approx 1400g, while ti's are about 950g

All I know is that the Ti bindings are made with titanium for added strength and lesss weight, but Im hoping you already knew that.

In tractor pulls, a 'full pull' is the best you can get. Ahh, how sport mirrors life.

The p12 Ti weighs 1300 grams each (2600g for the pair). I don't know the weight on the regular p12, but the regular p10 weighs 1385g and the p10 Ti is 1300g. So, I am thinking the regular 12 is also 1385g. So, the Ti saves you 85 grams each binding, or the equivalent of 1/3 pound overall on your pair of skis. (not that much)

Now that we are comparing, the Salomon s912 weighs 1490g each, but the s912 Ti is only 990g. Or, 2.2 pounds overall. (that is noticable)

So for those of you who say Look pivot bindings are sooooo heavy, that only is correct when comparing them to Salomon Ti bindings.

thanks man, that is the specifics I was looking for. funny that the discrepancy is so small. and yeah, I have scratch 140 bindings on my skis and they feel like lead, whereas my roommate has 912 ti on his skis and they feel like feathers. Personally I dont care about the weight, but I was curious. Thanks again
