Yeah, i just got a used pair of 03-04 4FRNT MSP's, they were almost perfect. They have a little slit in the base. I want to fill it myself, cuz i really dont wanna pay 100.00 to have a shop do it when i can do it for 5.00, i would really like to know a step by step process that you have used that has worked well for you. I have looked at the other threads on repairing with p-tex, but they arent very in-depth. Any help is greatly appriciatied

wow. your shop would charge $100 dollars for just a little slit? that sucks. we only charge 45-50 canadian for major base repair at my shop. anyways if you plan on hitting rails, don't bother it will knock the ptex right out, plus rails will do more damage than that anyways.

yeah a rail will knock it out but then you just fill it again.

1) go to your local shop and get some BLACK p-tex for about a dollar. I say get black bevause it just seems to work better

2) light the end of the p-tex on fire and then just let it drip where you want it.

3) let it harden for like 20 seconds and then get a scrapper and just get it smooth.

4) wax up the skis.

5) go ride a few times and then repeat the process once it falls out.

it is really quite easy so don't blow your money

Its really pretty easy.

1. Light ptex stick on fire, drip into holes in base

2. Use some sort of rigid metal scraper to scrape it smooth. You don't want to use a plastic scraper like for wax. You want a metal scraper that won't bend. When your done scraping you will still be able to see where the ptex fill is but you won't be able to feel the difference with your hand.
