Overshooten it HARD

I just wanted to see how other people felt about when they are guniea piggin a jump or just going big and u are in the air knowing u are gonna overshoot it. To me thats one of the worst feelings...just knowing u are going to eat shit hard and not being able to do anything about it. This also occurs of couse when casing a jump but of couse its not the same.

 
its the worst when you're at the peak of your height and your already floating over the landing....i usually roll down the windows and prepare for a rough landing.

i think if you're not going totally huge(anything over 50-60 feet) then casing it is worse. If I overshoot a 30 footer I try my best to collapse myself loosely and hope just to wash out. But knowing you totally fucked up and decking on a 30 foot icy kicker is the worst wake-up call ever. Shittiest feeling, and when your knees crunch on that perfect flat iced out deck feels so bad.. plus its fuckin embarrasing next to a lift line..

^i see it the oposite, i can washout when im aout to case, but overshooting is just a whole different bag of chips.

when ever i overshoot i always land sideways for some reason i just cant help it, it's like my brain's default overshooting position

most of the time whne i see im gonna overshoot i try to land really loose and try to absorb it more

HAHA ^ not that bad my ass, last time i did it i was in the hospital for 5 day's. overshot a 50 footer by 25 feet staright air with a safety to death, im the worst gunie pig ever.

yeah i've overshot quite a few in my days, i usually just sit real far back and slap my tips down super hard. i blacked out at alpine meadows this year for a couple seconds after overshooting the shit outta one of their jumps. my backs still fucked up

 
I was guinea pigging a 40+ footer and overshot so bad I was knocked uncouncious. I don't really remember being in the air, it's all like a dream up until the peak of the air then nothing, but it's a sickening thought.

generally I roll them down, dig my tips and lay it down.

 
yeah the windows go down and the legs start flaing around. I also always land on my left side when i overshoot.

Overshootin is the worst, I always do a 3 first hit, but if you overrotate, it always turns to an overly painful 450 to yard sale

 
Ive over shot a 50 footer a couple of times, as far as a jump that big it didnt hurt that much, like ive overshot smaller that hurt more. But my one friend over shot that 50 footer sooo bad, cuz after the landing it goes flat then a lil bit after theres a second landing, we had him measured at about 115-120 feet from the lip to were the creater in the snow was, some how he only got a minor concusion and some bruised ribs, he miss the second slop by like 10 feet to which really sucked

ive been having really bad dreams, not quite nightmares, about overshooting jumps over the past week or two

over shooting just sucks, and it can be quite scary, hurts too. if im not flailing like a mad man, i usually just say something like "oh fuck" very casually

 
what sux is when u go off like a 40ft and ur goin pretty fast and do a 540 and at 360 ur waving bye to the knowl and ur still a good 10-15ft up in the air

I like to pretty much just trey sickstee jumps as a ginuea pig, but when I over shoot on jumps, then I will do another spin or two, and land real far down, and if you land it, it feels so cool, because your legs feel like jelly, but it doesnt hurt, its pretty much rad.

overshooting is horrible... any time i hit a jump wrong and i know it, i just really calmy go, aaaw fuck!, and then brace for impact....

i usually knuckle rather than overshoot... in fact, i think i've only overshot once, and that was a step up that i cleared entirely..

Ummm....you check the jump first before hitting it?? Thats how you avoid discovering that the jump has changed overnight...common snese, sometime we dont have it

it's been a long time since ive overshot...last time was at heavenly a couple years ago on a 50 footer, overshot the entire landing by 20 feet. ouch, somehow I didn't get hurt. This past season I cased on a 40 footer really bad though and that killed me, my whole body just buckled and shit.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.
 
yeah, i did a simlar thing. i did about those same specs and landed on my back on the flats (i left the lip and just instantly started rotating backwards to death, not trying to backflip or anything, is just happened). yeah i ended up breaking 5 vertebre.

Forcast for tomorrow: a pinch of genius and a chance of DOOM!!
 
yeah man, it was the stupidest thing ive ever done, no doubt. i had no idea they changed it from a 50 to a 30 footer, but i didnt check, and that was totally my fault. plus it was raining hard and the snow was sticky, so i bombed as fast as i could into it. it was really bad news when a gust of wind picked me up in the air and just sent me. all in all, the conditions were piss poor, and i could have avoided the situation for sure. oh, and the clit took about three weeks to heal and blend back into my tongue. fun stuff.

when i overshoot something i just try to let my body do the natural thing. I dont care about landing on two feet any more. Just sort land on skis then fall down all simultaneously and hope for the best.

ive never gotten hurt overclearing...just underclearing. when i overclear i kinda let my body go limp and fall in the right way

i also cased a 60 footer right on the knuckle switch. i hiked up and did it again though, and cased again. at that point my brake and binding were gone.

I do a martial art called aikido, where we learn break falls, so landing on my side never hurts. Whats bad is fucking shin splints and shit
