Overprotective parents

So a couple of weeks ago I totalled my awesome red volvo on my way up to mt.snow, everyone was fine, not even a scratch on anyone. The roads where awful and i didnt even have snowtires. But now whenever i drive up to go skiing nobody can go with me because their parents wont let them. I mean shit im ridiculously careful in the snow now, and i havnt had another problem. how can i convince my friends parents to let them go, and stop being so fucking overprotective

man not to be a dick or anything but if my bud totalled a car i wouldnt want to drive in his vehicle either.

Most teen drivers aren't that good of drivers as it is since they just got their licenses and parents are super nervous just letting their kid get in the car with one of their friends. If one of their friends totals their car, that gives them a little more reason to not want their kid to be put into a dangerous situation. Personally, if my kid was friends with you I wouldn't want them in your vehicle for a little bit until I can see that you are a better and more responsible driver. No hate, it's the truth.

if your friend was driving, i bet you and or your parents would be just as uneasy as they are. weather related accidents, well yeah, they aren't your fault, but from what you're saying... your car isn't equipped to handle winter driving and whatnot. don't take it too pers dude. accidents shake people up a little... give 'em a little time.

well, if i had kids, and they were in an accident with one of their friends, and i found out that their friend didn't have snow tires, then yeah, i wouldn't let them get a ride with you. people get into accidents on snow/ice because they don't know how to control their car. you can avoid all those by easily going slow instead of a little bit faster, and maybe mroe practice with driving. and people without winter tires are the biggest hazard on the road.

i think if you got some winter tires, then maybe your friends parents would let you drive again, even if you are confident in your driving skills. it all comes with experience.

sorry bro but i wouldnt ride with you

i was suppose to ride with my friend last year, he had had 3 traffic tickets in 4 months for 2 fender benders and a excessive speeding violation. this late saturday i was gonna ride home with him but my dad said no, thank freakn god, oh well my friend hit black ice rolled the brand new ford f150 twice hit a tree collapsed the entire extended cab, then spun it around again and took off the entire passenger area of the front cab. i enevitable would have been dead. so i refuse to ride with him and yes he is a bad drive. accidents can wig ppl out man

thats not overprotective thats evolution. you TOTALLED your car. Teen drivers are already extremely dangerous + a long drive + snow + after skiing (tired) + someone who totalled their car + no snow tires = theres no way I would drive with you to the hill or let my child if I had one
