Over rotating backflips

Today I over rotated a backflip half of a rotation. Essentially, I did a back flip and a half and landed flat on my back on very hard packed snow. This resulted in a trip to the hospital which sucked. Regardless, I don't want to get discouraged. So could you pro back flippers out there explain to me how to stop rotating after the first rotation. Thanks.

don't close your eyes when you are in the air!

no seriously, one good tip is that when you flip, put your skis in your back so like that, you wil spot the landing well

You have to get your rotation point at your waist, not the shoulders. Dont lay back in your start, let your waist rise and dont pull your shoulders back. Another trick (which I dont like) is to look strait ahead when starting the rotation as long as you can.

I don't close my eyes. In fact, I can spot the landing really well. It is just that after I spot it, I keep rotating and can't stop. How do I rotate slower?

it all depends how big and how poppy the jump is dude. dont swing your arms before the flip, it makes you spin faster and harder. just pop off the jump with your legs and flip.

lay it out! really arch your back so your head is almost tuching the tails of your skis! spot your landing, then just bring your feet around,by then bring you knees to you chest. if you can lay backs out well, you can throw them off anyhting!

good luck

This man knows what he's talking about. When you're riding up the jump keep forward and have pressure on your shins, then pop, and stare straight out forward for as long as you can.

Don't listen to people who say arch your back, that just makes it easier to overrotate.
