Out of the loop - ski movies

So I've kind of been completely out of the loop in terms of the ski world for the last 6 months. Its been a busy final year of high school and I had to unfortunately push skiing aside to find what I was going to do when its time to leave home. Turns out getting your dad to accept that the military is your calling is absolutely as difficult as people make it out to be. Enough background.

I'm here because its December finally and its time to have one last care-free ski season with friends and family. I've spent long enough away from any contact with the ski world that I was unaware of any titles of this years ski movies until 20 seconds ago when I checked the iF3 awards for the movies.

But from my experience the iF3 choices aren't always the best guidelines, at least for my taste. So disregarding what won the awards, give me your top 3 most fun, creative, exciting ski movies this year that really make you want to get back at it. Thanks for the help!

Best jib flick: Mutiny by Stept

Best all around: Partly Cloudy by Level 1

Best big mountain: Way of Life by Teton Gravity

Best feels: McConkey by Matchstick

Honourable mention: Valhalla by Sweetgrass (for something different - if you are into the soul of skiing).

This is, of course, all opinion - and I haven't seen every ski video this year so it could be totally inaccurate.

1. Supervention (you really don't need anything else, will blow your mind)

2. TWP (straight up ski porn)

3. Mutiny

Partly cloudy felt a bit tired but it has some good parts. McConkey is obviously awesome too. Into the Mind is a bit too abstract for me, but Kai and Calum kill it

Cliff notes off the top of my head:

Mutiny (Stept) - Doctors gouge a very bloody hole in Shea Flynn's shoulder region.

Tracing Skylines (PBP) - Sean Pettit takes a surfing trip to Nicaragua! (?)

Into The Mind (Sherpas) - Computer enhanced documentary about the Himalayan bald eagle.

Partly Cloudy (Level 1) - Finnish internet sensation 'Real SkiFi' skis with really distracting outerwear.

Supervention (Field) - Now with English subtitles!

Way of Life (TGR) - Up and comer Sage Cattabriga-Alosa skis in Alaska.

Valhalla (Sweetgrass) - Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros eat peyote and start a nudist colony in Nelson, BC!

Mutiny kind of scared me away from urban (because I'm a pussy) but is a pretty cool flick. Partly Cloudy from Level 1 I loved because it mixed urban, not overpowered by backcountry, and had some styly skiers in it
