Our first full lenght movie. feedback needed!

Good edit, but, no offence, i could tell it was your first. Solid skiing and editing, but again, too much burn. I liked the sound track, and all in all 6.5-7 /10. Solid
 
The transitions between segments were pretty abrupt.

Some people can pull off skiing pow without poles. The dude in this can't.
 
I preferred the style of the outro, which looked completely different from the rest of the movie. It was much more interesting, with lots of different things going on andwith the editing short and to the point. The skiing was good, however it's the sort of thing you see all the time, seemed a bit cliché. It'd be cool to see what you can come up with past park skiing/pow skiing, something more creative? But as you say it's your first one and it's much better than anything I could do haha, so good stuff!
 
I don't know jack about editing, so I can't give any advice there. I thought you did a good job. It would have been nice to see more of the landings on the jumps.

not bad! i enjoyed it but i have a few comments. first of all, love the title. i just wished there was a bit more commentary in it to really support the idea of 'a skiing story'. music was decent, wasnt really feeling the flipping pages/bubbling soundtrack. my favourite part would be the whistler segment and the transition of songs at 6:15. i thought that was really clever. i found that it didnt really need to be as long as it is. there was just random clips in it that didnt have any relation to the edit. for example, the random shots in the city. on the contrary, you got some nice skiing shots like ones off the booters and in backcountry. at first i didnt really understand the outro but that wouldve been prime time to comment over. i liked it either way and looking forward to the next one!

Honestly, that was a really good first try, if it truly is!

I thought the opening scene was really good and it definitely set the scene!

Really good work! I cant wait to see more from you guys!
 
Not Splice material, though, eh? You guys could do better. Hell, I bet you could make a film at Sherpa level. You should give NS a tease.....

Liked it, I thought the filming was pretty darn good... transitions were eh, but the feel was chill and I enjoyed it! Different music though
 
So sick! Great skiing and great vibe. It could have been a little longer but It was still good. Not much bad to say about it.
 
i think that the burn added a good effect. maybe there was a bit too much but i still think it was well done! good work!
 
I really enjoyed that, especially the follow cam on the park segments, something that I think is missing from a lot of ski movies. And you said this was your first move? The editing was great

!
 
I think it could be much improved with a little more color work and steadier filming. Really sick for a first film though
 
of course we did some 3min edits before, but this was the first real try of something longer and putting more effort in it than just go pro fallow footage!

that was really good. wouldn't really have even payed attention to that burn effect or whatever but i read a few comments before i watched so i kept noticing it, but definitely a sick movie
 
That was sick! I really liked the intro with the talking. I also didn't mind all the film burn. Great first movie!

- i thought the first skiing segment was a little weak, especially in the editing. maybe edit more to the music a little more and also let your some of your shots go a bit longer, especially the point of view shots.

-find a way to stabilize the camera better (good tripod, steady cam, glide cam, etc....) some of the shots were a bit shaky and were a bit hard to watch.

-watch your cuts, some of them were a bit random and not needed and did not flow with the song.

other than that i really liked it, there was a good flow and variety of shots and styles. and of course the skiing was fantastic and interesting to watch. g

Watched first 2 minutes had to stop it......

Mainly because it's 4 in the morning and I'm going to bed. Threads for tomorrow when I can watch it. What I watched already was good.
 
I really liked the edit style, music choice and park riding. Overall a really good first movie.

But the BC stuff? How can you be from Switzerland and ski pow like that? Ain't there a law against this...
 
actually ur totally free to go out of bounds wherever u want! (except forest that is protected for animals) don't know what u heard....it's just not allowed to use a snowmobil...but u would be surprised what u can get by just doing some traversing (not even hiking)!
 
Yeah, Splice, When's Motive coming out? You're at Windells so you must be almost done filming, right?

But on topic. I enjoyed the film, but the soundtrack made me sleepy. It was good, but very... Monotonous.
 
pretty good but the segments were a little short and some of the affects were a bit cheesy. The music was good but a used in alot of other edits. overall great job though.
 
dub post, yes, i liked it a lot. I would say just minor things such as matching the transitions up with the music better and get the filming a little less shaky. Other than that I thought it was great! good work.
