who else thinks the world needs some serious changes, just to state a few

- back to real music

- get rid of george bush and attempt to redo our government

- legalize marijuana

- stop gettin into other countries business

- and a hole bunch of other stuff that i dont feel like typing

i dont know why people bitch about this country. it is the best country in the world. just because there are a few assholes and ignorant fucks people think it is bad

i think bush is doign a pretty dang good job given his position. imagine you being the presidant and having millions of people hate you but you still keep your head up leading a country. he started over in the middle east after the world trade center incident. i dont know about you but if someone flys an airplane into one of my countries most valuable buildings, id wanna bomb the shit out of them.

but he cant because the majority are innocent over there and they had to search for the terrorists. and since he got into that business, hes not just gona walk away and not finish what he started after the capture of saddam. i think hes doing a good thing trying to rid the middle east of terrorism. i am aware its costing many lives and wish he could come up with a better plan, but givin his position, thats way easier said than done.

im cool with marijuana being illegal. its easy to hide that shit an all and i can definately see why it is illegal. people would abuse it if it wasnt. and dont even try and argue with me on that.

before you make a thread like this, think it through more.

i agree with u about george bush, i mean there is no way u are going to make everyone happy. plus, i understand that he is by no means perfect but no one would be in that position. as far as marijuana goes change is going to happen slowly, be patient. they just legalized is in Denver this fall, so its obvious people are much more relaxed about it these days.

??????

come on man, you are the classic " mainstream music sucks, bush is gay, and weed is the best fucking thing ever!!" dumbfuck. Listin to your own music and move to canada, its that simple, dont try and sound all smart, because you arnt.

I disagree. Bush has always and always will seem to me as a feeble minded and weak president. The guy is a puppet of his cabinet and the people that pay for his campaigns, large corperations.

He has done more damage to environmental law than several of the last presidents put together. Gale Norton running our public resources is just scary.

The idiot attacked another country on the basis of fraudulent, made up, and exaggerated "intellegence". The result is that we are locked in a pointless war were we are definitly not going to win, but eventually pull out in shame, and all we can show for our stupidity are the gravestones of Americans killed fighting the people we used to give guns to and the deaths if tens if not hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis. Saddam was bad, yes, but the people weren't dying like this.

Bush has succeeded in placing an 700 billion dollar deficit on the shoulders of people me, even though he came in with a 200 billion surplus in the US treasury. We will be paying off this deficit for the rest of our lives. Personally, I would much rather see a return to taxing the people and having enough money to pay our teachers decently, than giving already rich people more money.

No child left behind is the biggest fuckup of an education reform that we have seen. It mandates that we acheive 100% pass rates on the gov't tests of Math, English, and Science by 2012. If these pass rates are not met, school funding is cut. How you fix a problem that requires more time and attention by teachers by giving the school less money to hire more teaching staff is ridiculous. The law does not take into account regional differences in population. For example, there are maybe 6 kids in my highschool of Hispanic origin, out of highschool population of about 2500. This is not racist, but I live 70 miles from Canada in a predominantly white corner of Montana. If 4 of these kids pass, that is a 66% pass rate. That is basically failing. However, the law still puts this statistic up against the 2200 white kids in my school. If you have taken 4th grade math you know that there is a big statistical difference between a sample of 2200 and 6.

I supported thesis: Bush is a stupid corperate whore, and we are being fucked. Thanks for reading.

No one from Iraq flew planes into the World Trade Center. No link between Al Queda and the Iraqi dictatorship has ever been proven, on the contrary, the Bush administration has admitted Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. We invaded Afghanistan to counter 9/11 (even though Bushy wanted to invade Iraq directly after the attacks). Kinda funny that Afghanistan needed invading because of what we did to the country in the 80s. Read "Ghost Wars" by Steven Coll.

Bush is one of the most controversial presidents in the history of our country. Deficit? Poverty? Poor education programs? Minimal acknowledgement and virtually no action in regards to the ailing social security program? Failure to improve emergency response after the biggest emergency in the history of the country (9/11 vs. Katrina aid)? Approving illegal spying on citizens multiple times? Non environment friendly energy policy? Should I keep going? There are many presidents who have done much better with their terms in office.

The "he's got a lot of responsibility, lay off him" argument is so weak. With great power comes great responsibility, and with great responsibility comes great accountability, something which this president has, up until very recently, completely evaded, just like he did in college, as a business man, and as governor of Texas.

This is precisely why we are not. We have ignorant shitheads spouting off about how great it is to be free while we dont use our power to help fix the problems elsewhere, such as hunger, poverty, and disaster relief. We could be the leader, and show the other countries how to give our money to good causes, such as the earthquake in Pakistan. We could be the leader and sign treaties to lessen global pollution, and show other countries how to get on board. Instead, we sit here and bitch about how we will loose jobs if we cut down on the amount of shit we are spewing into the air we breath. You can't live in a polluted world, and working only is to provide money so you can live. No, we have a long way to go before we are the "best country in the world".

You would think after this long in office we would have something new to talk about.

Going into Afghanistan wasn’t a wrong move regardless of what happened in the 80s are you blaming bush for that as well?

As far as poverty and deficit BLAH BLAH BLAH, economies ride roller coasters and after the internet boom of the 90s we were bound to hit some sort of peak and go right down the other side...whether it was Bush or God himself as our president...Education has been shitty in the states don’t know why your bringing it up now (ooo because its BUSHs fault)

Yea Katrina was Bush’s fault too…can’t believe he made that hurricane hit Louisiana. .better yet he’s even mayor of New Orleans or Biloxi…or their governor don’t know why he didn’t prepare or evacuate those poor people!

Yes I don’t agree with the patriot act at all...but its better than sitting with our thumb in our ass...if your not sure go overboard and scale back like they are doing...personally I have no problem with profiling in airports...watching an 8 year old get stripped searched because she was the 642 person to pass through the gates isn’t safety.

but the thing is its true. i mean what other country is as good as ours?

but anyways...yes bush is not doing the best job. hes not that smart of a person. but i am proud to support someone that stands up for his beliefs instead of someone that follows what will get him votes (john kerry)... who switched his position on the iraq war for a third time just recently.

im sure there are other people who could have made smarter choices than george bush but since we couldnt vote for them it makes no sense bitching about it.

to the person who said people are not dying like they are now in iraq...are you kidding me? saddam was a dictator who gassed his own people with chemical warfare.

to the people who say...why dont we just let the people in other countries deal with their own issues? because not everyone can just deal with their own issues. when dictators are in place its impossible to the people to "solve their own problems." but it doesnt matter anyways cause if we didnt help them, the same people would be pissed at us for not helping people who are being oppressed. you just are never satisfied. also, if we just did absolutely nothing we would be like the French...now who wants that?!

i love america and would not live anywhere else.

... abused like o say alcohol. It doesn't make any sense that one is legal and the other isn't.

1. people can like whatever type of music that they want. There is vast musical diversity in every single country.

2. "redo" the government? I don't even know what this supposed to mean. You mean change the system of government? ex. socialism?

3. yeah okay, legalize a drug that puts people into an artificial, false state of consciousness. I realize that alcohol is very similar, but the long term effects of weed are worse than alcohol. Alcohol doesn't turn you into a schizophrenic.

4. so we should let genocide take place?

I hate to tell you, but pretty much every single president is a puppet of their cabinets. You honestly think any president we have ever had has the ability to run a country solo? Large corporations dominate America's economy, so why shouldn't they have a say?

What I'm saying is that bush can't function at all on his own. I'm not saying he needs to run it solo, but he doesn't have a clue.

We aren't taking care of ourselves. We have a massive deficit, shitty education reform, problems with social security, and a good deal of the world hates us. We are the rich emo child in the world right now.

good one, you hit it right on. fuckin gay ass music, like green day, get rid of green day, get rid of bush hating teens that hang on their every word. then the good music will be snoop so obviously weed will be legal. i thought it thru, i like your plan

wow you are really shitty at sarcasm and satire and most of what your saying is wrong

people don't just hate bush because he's bush. we hate bush because he's taking our rights, starting wars and putting us in debt. i don't think anyone would say that bush 'is doing a pretty dang good job'.

I completely agree with you. Well done!!

Bush needs to go...since when is spying on your own people "to prevent terrorism" acceptable?

what rights of mine has George Bush himself taken? Do you realize that there would have eventually been problems with Iraq anyways?

Going into Afghanistan wasn’t a wrong move regardless of what happened in the 80s are you blaming bush for that as well?

If you reread what I wrote you'll notice I made no reference to Afghanistan being wrong nor did I blame Bush for corrupting the nation of Afghanistan. It was a side note. Good try, though.

Sounds like something a middle or upper middle class person would say because they have no concern about the great deal of poor below them and are minimally effected by such shifts. Regardless, blowing a surplus as large as he had and ending up as far in the hole as he is is ridiculous no matter who the person is or what the circumstances. Lowering taxes while spending TENS of billions of dollars fighting an unjustified, poorly planned war, while deregulating business regulations further allowing American jobs to fly out the window and wealth concentration to become further lopsided--I guess it's not hard to see how one could fuck up this bad in light of the latter.

As far as his education programs go, the No Child Left Behind Act is a load of shit and yes, this was pushed forward in Texas, by Bush. Read the book "Bushwacked." Yes, it's sucked for a long time. That, however, has nothing to do with Bush and his administration's inability to remedy the problem, which they should, as should any party RULING THE FUCKING COUNTRY.

Yea Katrina was Bush’s fault too…can’t believe he made that hurricane hit Louisiana. .better yet he’s even mayor of New Orleans or Biloxi…or their governor don’t know why he didn’t prepare or evacuate those poor people!

Again, I did not blame Bush for Katrina, I blamed him for combining all the federal agencies under one giant umbrella, causing a lack of communication which in turn caused FEDERAL (i.e. NOT STATE) aide to be allocated slower than necessary. Here's some reading for you http://www.economist.com/agenda/displayStory.cfm?story_id=4382412&no_ga_tran=1&no_na_tran=1

Well, doing ANYTHING is better than doing nothing when responding to an emergency. So enacting legislation that seriously infringes on our civil liberties is ok because it's better than doing nothing? Bullshit. They could have done a wide variety of less severe and evasive protection measures.

if you've been paying attention to the news, or even thought about what i'd said, you'd know what rights i'm talking about. he has admitted that he's invading our privacy. he just gave a speech trying to justify it. unfortunately, he's been completely wrong about many things in the past, thus i have no faith in anything he says now.

your going to sit there and tell me people dont abuse alcohol? i dont know what kind of rich area you live in but it does get abused....

Can you name those rights? How is george bush getting rid of a dictator taking away my rights? Anything i could do when bill clinton was president, i can do now. Debt comes with war. There is no avoiding it, and if there was a democrat running the country there would be much more of it. Republicans aren't big fans of worthless social programs.

Are america really that free?

Can you do anything another human in another country can´t do?

Im gonna list a couple of things people in our age may find interesting, in sweden we have..

Free school, from 1st grade untill highschool graduation.

Free dentist untill we are 20

Free medicalcare untill we are 20

Free school food

Free transportation to/from school

Every student i sweden gets 950 Sek every month

Do you have anything like that in the US? im just curious..

Kerry catches all this shit for switching his position on the War. What about Bush. How many times have Bush's motives changed. Weapons of mass destruction, oh wait, my vision was wrong, rid people of a tyranical dictator, shit, wrong again, how about to install democracy where it is impossible because religious differences will not allow it. Hmm, im running out of ideas, to make the world a safer place and rid it of terrorism, but not in terrorist countries, just iraq. God Damn people are so ignorant.

...Oh God! I'm away from NS over a week and I come back to see one of these threads.

There is nothing wrong with being critical of our leaders, but using unfounded arguments is a cornerstone of an ignorant population. Lets clarify a few things.

1. How is Bush a puppet to his cabinet? He appoints all of them. I also recall that he has changed several cabinet members during his tenure. This theory holds about as much water as a cardboard box.

2. Done more damage to the environment then "several" of that last presidents put together? Could you be more vague next time please? Its hard to make a bold claim like that when you don't have anything to back it up...it just makes you look stupid.

3. I'm not even touching the war in Iraq. Its been explained 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times in hundreds of threads. Hell, Bush even explained himself in his Sunday address.

4. WE ARE NOT IN THE FUCKING DEFICIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANY SLIGHT UNDERSTANDING OF ECONOMICS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WE HAVE NOT BEEN IN A DEFICIT, AND WE ARE NOT IN A DEFICIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD KILLS A BABY SEAL EVERY TIME SOMEONE SAYS WE ARE IN A DEFICIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. Our country's public education system already sucks ass. I agree that the No Child Left Behind act is not a solution. I am one that believes the education system of this country needs to be reformed top to bottom. In actuality though, NCLB is not the "biggest fuckup" of an education reform that "we" have seen. There has been worse. This is just the most recent. Its sad you will NEVER find a politician that will want to pony up the cash to overhaul the schools.

6. We are not the "best" country in the world. "Best" is only a perception. We are however currently the most SUCCESSFUL country in the world.

7. "Why shouldn't other countries take care of themselves, like we do?" We have $$$ and power, many countries don't. Money and power are what makes the world go round. Not to mention being isolationist is 100% IMPOSSIBLE with a country the size of the US coupled with a global economy.

8. All of you people that do not agree with the Patriot Act clearly have no understanding about it. Mind you I dont agree with it 100%, but I do agree with a lot of it. CNN, FOX, NBC and every other news source don't even scratch the surface of how deep that document is. It adds regulations to everything from seaports to banks. Read the document. I know you'll all say, "No, its to long and I don't have time." Bullshit. You can't have an informed opinion if you don't even know what it looks like. Read it or shut up!

9. The only people who care about legal marijuana are...well...stoners. I have yet to see otherwise. It's a non-issue and I really don't care. Its easy enough to get anyway. If you want to smoke it, go ahead.

10. I said it before and I'll say it again. John Kerry is an idiot. The Democrats can seriously do better than him. They lost the election because of his mediocrity. People who still believe in him are pathetic. They can also do better than Hilary too. That party has no direction right now except "right wing BAD!" YAWN!

This was not directed at any single person. This is directed at the majority of people in this thread. Please think. Its this kind of crap that hurts society.

bahaha. this was reeeeal ignorant. Almost as ignortant as the kid who hasnt even smoked for a year and is like "dudes, i dont get high anymore"
