Other Park Boots?

NOT BOOTFITTER RELATED

What are some good park skiing boots? I'm growing out of my FT and looking for another boot that might accomodate my skinny calves.

I'm looking for boot names so that before I go to a store to get fitted I can make sure they have most of the park boots to try out.

I find Nordica boots such as the ace of spade and the double six, tight on the shins but they have a 100mm last. So they are quite different then the full tilts.

when I say a "park boot" i mean one thats fairly light, not too bulky, and not very stiff. so clearly I don't want a boot like the salomon ghost boot even though it fits my foot really well.

Atomic Volt's are pretty nice a little stiffer flex than some but it works really well. The heel cavity on them is so nice.

SPK/Pro are real real nice but are a little wider.

Dalbello makes a couple boots for park, the Il Moro is the "park boot" but several of the Kryptons are real popular and solid as well.

Fit isn't just about fitting your foot- it's also about having the right flex and geometry that works for YOU. So this will come back to being boot-fitter related.

Take our pipe athlete Mike Riddle. He wears our 130 flex race boot because it has the right fit to his foot, the right flex for his weight, and the geometry he is looking for.

There are 2 schools of thought to "freestyle" boots- a traditional set up, which is narrower fit, more forward lean and stiffer flex (Atomic Volt, Salomon Ghost, Full Tilt Hot Dogger, Dalbello Krypton) or a new school set up which is wider, less forward lean, and a bit softer flex (Atomic Overload, Salomon SPK, FT Booter, etc).

Two very different approaches to building a freestyle boot that will require you to go to a boot-fitter to find out which is best for you.

No it comes out of the "Original" mold series, so it will be in the same vein as the Seth, First Chair, and also Classic.

i went to the boot fitter today and the ghost and hot dogger fit the best. im thinking of checking out some tecnicas before i make a final choice.

I gotcha... Those 2 classifications are good just to show some general distinctions. The fit and geometry are going to better classify which category because flex is the easiest to modify or adjust.

And there will always be some type of boot that is in-between or doesn't exactly fit in there but generally speaking this is a good way to split it.
