Osu skiier needing rides this winter (lots of gas $$$$)

im a freshman at osu lookin for rides this winter since im in the dorms and have no car. ill def contribute gas money so if anyone in the area wants to help me out thatd be sick
 
IF you can somehow someway make it to the tuttle crossing/dublin area, you can ride with me. I go pretty much everyday (to mad river).
 
From my place in dublin, parking spot to parking spot, its 33 mins on the nose. Anyone and everyone is welcome. I usually roll out around 5:00 - 5:15 during the weekdays, and whenever I wake up on the weekends. can't wait, super pumped!
 
if you have a driver's license maybe we could work something out. i have a car but i can't drive it unless i'm going to school or work. i live like 4 blocks from the south end of campus (dorms). i'd be really down for weeknight trips to madriver via terman's car.
 
wow im right near u. smith is on the very south edge of campus. right by the outdoor bball courts where those black guys play ball every night. yeah i gotta liscense so if u need me to drive out to the hill its no prob
 
Look as though you two should buy passes to MRM. If i were you, I'd wait until we go out there for the first time, and what not. DONT BUY IT ONLINE!!!!! There is a lady at the front desk that offers season passes at the group rate ($235ish) until around xmas. Season passes online are super expensive. Definitely worth waiting.
 
i live on the corner of 5th avenue and highland street. it's literally a 30 second car ride up neil avenue to your dorm.

and terman, i'm definitely planning on buying a pass to mrm. that's good to know about the group rate thing. it'll be really convenient for me to ski there during the week this winter.
 
Lets hope we get a storm like we did last year. I think this year I will try to go to mad river like twice a week and I will definitely be able to give you rides.
 
man, all of this mad river talk, i hope you guys (terman and mark) are still gonna be up at trails quite a bit. it feels like i havent ridden with you guys forever, and ill be home all winter. congrats on the adult decision btw markee
 
yeah i'll be around. i just can't really justify driving to mansfield and back a couple of times per week to ski for three hours. weekends will be snowtrails for sure though.
 
Agreed. From my place to MRM is 33 mins parking spot to parking spot with the cruise on at 70ish-mpjh, and its 1:10 mins parking spot to parking spot to Snow Trails. Definitely worth making the short trip to mad river during the week/end. From Marks place to mine is about 15-20mins. Even with the added extra time, its still quicker to hit up mad river. If its half as fun as last year, itll still be a blast.

Im a no go on the hand rails. I hurt my knee last pre-season and it lead to a torn ACL 1/2 way through the season. Once the snow starts to fall I have a couple rails in mind around OSU that are definitely doable.
 
If its the one I'm thinking of, it is almost flat and it seems like would be so hard to get enough speed.
 
its that black one thats kinda fatish. its not steep but steep enough that i feel like if u got enough speed to get on itd be doable. def would need some sorta dropin
 
y is that. i know racing is pretty gay but u dont even have to race. i just wanna go on the tremblant trip and get a season pass to snowtrails for a discount.
 
the ohio state ski team is gay, not racing. racing is actually pretty cool in many circumstances. the ski team is just a bunch of assholes who think they know everything about skiing because they spend too much money on racing suits and go three miles per hour around gates once a week. seriously everyone on the ski team is terrible at skiing. it used to be funny watching them try to navigate a terribly assembled racecourse, but it's grown quite old. i don't think they get too much of a discount on the snowtrails pass anyway. you can just buy a rad pass sometime within the next few weeks and i believe it's the same price. i would advise taking every measure necessary to ensure you don't end up on that ski team. the ski club, however, isn't as terrible. that would be worth checking out.
 
problem with the club is that they hardly do any actual skiing. the spring trip is like 2 days of skiing and 4 days at the beach. fuck that. plus im mostly just looking for a way to get to the hill on a consistent basis and i dont believe the club actually goes anywhere besides the two trips. the discount isnt bad either. i just checked the snowtrails site and a season pass is like 320 whereas its only 265 through the team. i may just do it and then just not compete
 
^Your best bet is buy a pass to MRM and drive out to dublin with mark, and catch a ride with myself.

I can assure you that itll be anything but boring when skiing with mark and i.

 
Im getting a pass to mad river this year so you will also be able to catch rides with me. I should be able to go at least twice a week.
 
I'm not sure how the team has been in years past (I transfered out here last year from Reno/Tahoe... stupid me right? haha) Anyways I'm president of the team this year and am working on implementing a freestyle division with a few slopestyle competitions since they have like an official collegiate division for it (its still a pretty big joke). My roommate is also an officer and loves to do park so we're pushing for it hard. Most people on the team this year are pretty laid back and just out to have a good time, we definitely don't claim to be good and I haven't seen anyone wear a speed suit yet (but if they do, to each his own right?). As far as racing goes I don't think anyone takes it serious anymore... last year we would sometimes just do stupid shit like ski the race course switch or throw some 3s over gnolls which resulted in our disqualification. Anyways I joined the team over club just because when I came out I wanted to actually ski a lot and didn't know anyone out here. Club is still a cool organization too though especially since its pretty cheap to join and it gets you free beer every Wednesday at Ledo's which is a nice deal so we have people who do both. I apologize for any douchebags on the team though (I'd like to filter them out but that would qualify as DISCRIMINATION haha). Anyways all team stuff aside I'd love to ride with you guys this winter and hopefully tag along to any hand rail/urban sessions with you mark. Sorry for the novel of text.
 
^ it seems as if i stand corrected. that's just how i always remember the ski team always being when i was younger. i lived in colorado last winter so i didn't see any of the ski team. that's awesome if you guys are trying to give the program a little bit of a facelift. when do you guys start doing the ledo's wednesday thing? i'd love to meet up with you guys and chat about some stuff going on this coming winter. let me know.
 
Well like I said i just transfered out here last year so it could've been that way before for sure. I know a lot of people think the team is like hardcore (but really terribly skilled) racers so the reputation had to of started somewhere. We've just been working to try and fix that this year. The ledo's thing is through ski club and I'm pretty positive they still do it this year. Basically you pay the like $35 membership fee and they give you a card that you just show to the bartender at Ledo's every Wednesday and it gets you unlimited like pitched refills. As far as ski team stuff goes I'd be down to meet up whenever or where ever (permiting I'm not busy with like school work) and talk about winter stuff just let me know if something works for you VIA message or what not. Definitely stoked on the upcoming winter season!
 
so i did end up joining. my name is brian and i was at the party u guys had in a browns jersey. thats about all i remember of that night tho besides the shot-ski which is genious. stoked for asbco jam and hopefully a preseason urb or 2 if we get some snow
 
im down to give ya a ride, it got expensive last year drivin out all the time. im right on campus and am always down to carpull. and im 100% down to hit some urbans if we get some snow.
