OSU cascades

Oh ok yea, whats it like over there. Im going to look into it cause i really want to be able to ski more during college. But my bro told me that the curriculum is pretty limited there and that i wont get the whole college experience, you know the dorms and parties and all the shananigans. Whats it like, you think it would be worth it as a freshmen

im almost 100% sure there are dorms here, i think they are called the juniper hall. i get to go skiing rigth after i get outta class which is pretty amazing. as for curriculum, it is more limited than the main campus but they also offer at least 1 degree the main campus doesnt offer. im a natural resources major which isnt offered in corvallis. yea, not really a party town but if your not into that stuff, like me, it isnt a problem at all. i wouldnt go there as a freshamn because all of your classes would be at cocc becuase they are lower division. i know you can also work out a schedule that lets you go to corvallis in the fall and spring but then you can come to cascades in teh winter and get in on the glorious skiing at bachy all winter long. its not for everyone but if you care more about skiing than anything else its for you. definately come take a tour, also we are gettin an engineering program soon which will be a huge plus

looked pretty good. dont think i would want to do all of my collage years there but possibly 1 or 2

I'm in Forest Management in Corvallis and know a lot of kids in natural resources. It's offered in Corvallis. I know they're dropping the recreation program because its useless for the most part so maybe they cut natural resources as well? but OSU is the best school in the world for natural resources/forestry. I also know a lot of kids who transferred from the cascade campus and lost a lot of credits while doing so. but going to school 30 min away from the mountain makes up for it i'm sure

lost credits transferring from cascades to the main campus? that doesnt seem possible seeing as how they are the same school. especially with some people going to cascades for the winter and Corvallis for fall/spring. damn straight about it being the best school for NR/FOR, its not to shabby for engineering either and im real excited for cascades to expand, especially since last year were were on the verge of getting closed.

i went to COCC, the jr. college to OSU Cascades.....this was the best move of my life. my 1st year in bend i rode 135 days. i went to very fun house parties, remember too, this was when bend was 25,000 people (circa 1994)....now at over 80,000 the parties have to be more fun. also, living in corvalis from october through april yields permanent cloud cover, with an ungodful amount of rain. i tried u of o shortly after cocc and returned after four horrible months of the shittiest weather ever. sure parties in the college town are fun, but when i look back at my friends memories vs. my memories, no question, pow, jumps, hiking, crushes beer and a blacked out chick any day.
for the outgoing productive person=bendfor the sheep who wants to follow the college party/sport norm=you know where to go

I am a Commercial Recreation Management student at OSU Cascades and I run the ski club at COCC. Pete's right, it's rad. I'm currently in NZ on my internship as Turoa Ski Area's Events Coordinator (sickest job in the world) but I'll be back in a month, hopefully before the Skjersaa's Jam....
Join the ski club, I'm workin on getting us to CO and UT, last year I took the Freestyle Ski Team to Winter Park, CO and the year before I got the Ski Club to Mt. Baker, WA. Anyways, if you wanna meet some locals, pop your head into Skjersaa's on 14th/Century Drive.

OSU Cascades isn't the greatest but your getting a degree, living in a great place, lots of sun even during the winter, and 20-30min away from the mt. no matter where you are in town.

Are you a Bro? or do you actually ski?

That's the question you have to ask yourself. Get over corvallis, it's a waste of life. Eugene, P-town, Corvegas, all cool for a football game and finding yourself at a Sorority Live out, but let's be real, if you are a dedicated skier you need to be in the mountains skiing 5 days a week. In bend, at OSU Cascades, you can. Better Snow, Better Town, Better Life.
As far as OSU Cascades not offering kids stuff, that's bullsh*t. Because of my degree and mandatory internship I landed a job as an Events Coordinator at Turoa Ski Area in New Zealand. I'm writing this from my desk on a sick mountain in New Zealand. Corvallis will get you drunk, a lame psychology degree that you won't do anything with (all my friends from high school), and basically waste 4-6 years of your life. F*ck the "real" college experience. Watch the youtube video "Bro rape". You'll laugh your ass off and see what happens in Corvallis at "real" colleges.

Moving to Bend was the best move in my life, now I am doing back to back seasons in Oregon and NZ and I get paid to do it.
Trust me when I tell you that Bend has many hidden secrets that you have to live there to find out. Move to Bend, unless you're a haterading Tah-bro...hahaha. biggups Team Tahbro
