Ordinary skier review

I watched it yesterday. Granted, I was tired as fuck when I was watching it so I had a hard time staying awake but the movie itself was awesome. Instead of being a linear timeline about Seth's past it mixes it up with some Chamonix stuff. Man, is that place gnarly. It's a longer movie with a run time of 96 minutes (including the special features via digital download). The special features are essentially Oakley ads but the very last one is quite funny, in my opinion.

I haven't seen it but my brother has and he wasn't a fan. I've heard a lot of mediocre/negative reviews. If your on a budget I'd recommend going with something else.

just keep in mind its a ski documentary, not a typical ski porn movie. That being said, I absolutely loved it. Seth is one of if not my favorite skier of all time and you get to see him in a new light. Seeing the sheer look of absolute fear on Seth Morrison's face is amazing and really puts that genre of skiing into perspective. It also sheds some light on the ski industry which is very interesting...

Don't go into it expecting constant skiing, there is a story, and a great story it is. I would recommend it to anyone, skier or non-skier

I don't know.... Granted, the first 20ish minutes were definitely focused on Seth's skiing and his life in general, but I feel like the second half of the movie just became a documentary about Chamonix, not so focused on Seth. Otherwise, sick movie, I'll have to watch it again, I was tired when I watched it the first time...

The parts about Seth Morrison were great. Unfortunately that's only about a quarter of the movie. Most of the movie is about Chamonix and it seemed to drag on a long time.

it was a good movie . as stated above not ski porn . I think the shit they did was fucking nuts and i sure as hell shit my pants when the guide fell in the crevass

I really liked it. It's a nice change to see some background to some lines rather than just non stop bangers/porn. The ski mountaineering side of things is fascinating to me though so I thought all the Chamonix bits were boss, much more interesting than seeing people shred chest deep pow over and over again.

They banged on about his dad issues too much though.

It packages awesomely with grand bizarre. Yeah it ships with grand bizarre didnt know til it showed up and my pants just immediately filled with cum. As i was saying the documentary style of ordinary skier plays really well with the ski porn bangerfest that is grand bizarre. I really liked watching them both in a row. and yeah youll either love or hate the cham stuff.

WOW!

Saw this yesterday and to anyone who is considering it, watch it immediately, you won't be disappointed.

Seth just straight kills it plus there are appearances from JP and Kye in the Cham parts which is gnarly as shit. Plus its really cool to see how driven Seth Mo is

If you like watching big mountain shots and are interested in learning more about what drives Seth, you'll love it like I did.

That was awsome, so much more respect for all of those skiiers, had two of my favorite skiiers of all time, jp and seth are awsome

Just added speand a winter in chamonix before i die

Just watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, although I am biased because Seth Morrison is my favorite skier ever. The guy is so mysterious, and doesn't himself provide a ton of insight into why he does what he does, but I think it's because it's simple....he loves to ski. I think it's similar to the case of the Pettit's, without a dad growing up, the mountain serves as their "father."

This movie is not geared towards park rats.

The Chamonix trip was super duper gnarly and by far one of the most technical ski trips I have ever seen in a movie. These guys were rappelling 100m down, switch ski rappelling again to the line, skiing the face, rappelling another 50m, and skiing the couloir below the face. In other words there were several lines where if they fell, it was 100% chance of death as they would have tumbled straight off a 100m+ cliff or wall of ice onto relatively hard snow with less than a foot of fresh powder. Remember Sean Pettit's deathly line from The Way I See It? It was at least as gnarly, especially with the potentially killer slough they were generating.

I liked this movie because it had some crazy, crazy lines, fantastic commentary, and gave some good perspective on being a professional skier. Seth admitted he missed the days when he could ski without the camera, that he could have just been a simple ski bum instead of a pro skier, and that pro skiing has become far more dangerous than ever before for the sake of the camera. It made me far less envious or jealous of pro skiers, and happy to be a ski "bum." I highly recommend this movie, rent it on iTunes.
