Order of learning tricks

I search-barred and couldn't find anything, but what is the best order to learn tricks in? This is my first year really getting into park and I can slide boxes, flat and down rails, and medium-large sized jumps aren't a problem. I can do minor stuff like safety grabs and tried front 3s and switch 180s in the park at whistler this weekend but I wanna learn some more advanced stuff. What order do most people learn tricks in? A separate list for rails/jumps would be great

360 W/ Grabs

Frontflip

540

Backflip

Flatspin 3/5

Thats as far as ive gotten

rails:

270 out

switchup

combine the two

270 on

270 on + switch ups

270 on + switch ups + 270 out

Bring roations up from there

The sport is called FREEskiing, and therefore there isn't a designated algorithm as to the order in which tricks should be landed. Just go with the flow, try that 450 on before trying a 270 on, chances are you'll land something cool.

jump;180360540frontflip ^spins with grabs switch 1switch 3backfliprodeo flat 3
rail;blind 2 outpretzel 2 outfront swap lip 270 oncombos

but really it doesn't matter just enjoy it and do what feels natural for you

said it before, but i'll say it again:

you don't need us to tell you what trick to try next man. i guarantee that once you're out there on your skis, you'll feel more comfortable trying certain tricks (basically endless possibilities of tricks to choose from) than others, so learn those ones! and once you've learned those, then scare yourself a little with the stuff you don't want to actually try as bad, but still would like to learn. confidence is key, but if you feel 100% comfortable trying something, then you probably aren't progressing too much.

but if you really need direction, then i would say start learning how to spin on boxes, and really learn how to set your edge (aka gas pedal, scissor, whatever), because that's key. and on jumps, as other people have said, 540, switch 3, backie, front, flat 3, etc. as you keep trying stuff, you'll probably gravitate toward one aspect of park skiing over the other (rails vs. jumps). so get good at what you prefer, but don't forget to push yourself in the other aspect too when you can.

this is what i did-5050 flat boxes

-slide boxes

-180

slide harder boxes

-shitty rail attempts

-shitty 360 attempts

-180 bigger jumps

-switch 180s

-get good at rails

-front 2s out of handrails

-get good at 3s

-3s with grabs

-shifty 3s

-540s

-good 540s

-good 540s with grabs

to be continued

There isn't a "easiest" way... it's all about what YOU think is the next easiest thing to learn... Of course, you gotta use some logic in there as well... you're not gonna learn a 1080 before a 360, but nobody is gonna tell you you can't 450 out before learning a 540...

i learned underflips before i learned backflips

order doesn't matter at all

when you're skiing and you feel like you could throw something new, go for it

this order shiz is just plain stupid man. try the tricks you feel, don't read from the note what to do

you can do whatever you want but in my opinion, cork should be learned before rodeo because some people who learn rodeo first throw their corks on a rodeo axis

my progression:

180

360

540

switch 180

^all with grabs

720

then just bigger jumps with more style

boxes:

fs 270 out

bs 270 out

surface switch up

hippie killers

hitting dif types of boxes like down, flat down, up flat etc

rails:

haven't done any tricks on rails yet im trying to get real comfortable sliding them all the way/locking on

hitting them "urban" (jump on - idk what proper terminology it is)

and now im working on kinks: flat down, down flat down etc.

For me it went 180, 360, 540, 720

Then completely forgot how to spin over a three so last season...

-360

-backflip

-flat 3

-rodeo

-cork 7

But now I neither 360 or backflip so I can do those last 3 tricks good but thats pretty much it. And rails are hard so try and get good at them. Make sure to still do an old trick once you get a new one, try and get good at both

i think mine was the same as most peoples but ill write it out just for you!

jumps:

180

360

sw180

540

^with grabs

backflip

720

frontflip

flat/rodeo 3

rails:

slide them

front 270

front swap

270 on

blind 2

back swap

270 on 270 off

front 4

k fed

front swap front 2 ( both ways

britney

unnat britney

lose 270 on cause i havnt done them in ages

unnat k fed

back swap to back swap

back swap to blind 2 ( kinda, although i always mean to do this and do back swap to back swap)

and probably some other stuff in there which ive forgotten about.

My friend who just started skiing who is retarded at everything he does learned all these this season in this order.

270 on

270 on 450 off

kfed

Brittany

superfed

superbrittany

360

360 cosack

720

1080

All in his first 2 months of skiing, not a claim i just wanted to express how retarded he is..

while i understand how you're using the word retarded, you might want to consider a different adjective to describe your friend

360, 540, 180 (for some reason I never did 180's before that), rails, fs 270, bs 270, fs 450, nugget. 720, backflip, cork 5.

360,180,frontflip,540,backflip,flatspin 3,rodeo 5. i learned the last 2 today. on rails: slide, switch up, front 270 out, back 270, surface swap

My order was really weird...

180

Flat 5

Flat 3

Backflip

360

360 with grabs

540+

Not kidding. I learned flat 5's before I could 360 a jump.

I really don't think there is an order. It depends on your strengths like 2 years ago I use to only slay the mini park and sucked sooo much at it you don't even understand but I could backflip at the time.

First trick I did was a kangaroo flip ontoo a s-rail predz dub cork 16 out.

But hey we're not all the best skiers on our mountain

it's different for everyone i'll throw a rough list of how i went though

switch 1

1

3

front 2

back 2

lipslide

front swap

sw 3

back swap

5

sw5

left 1,3,5 spin right

2 on

all 8/ 2 pretzel 2

7

switch 7

left 7

backies

front 6

flat 3/ rodeo 5,7

right 9

rodeo 9

cork 7/9

left 9

switch 9

cork 3/5

the rest of the tricks i can do there are definitely some in between those also a lot of combinations of them been skiing park for 5 years now don't know if this helps but it was kind of cool to think through my last couple years and what led to what so thanks for that!
