Orange constructionfence on turf/tarp on turf?

Im just trying to find the faster way, so I heard orange construction fence on turf is faster than pretty much everything else. Is this true?

It can be good but it depends. There are a bunch of different types of that construction fence. Some slide better than others. It's pretty much just trial and error. Some of the stuff you get at Homedepot and Lowes doesn't slide for shit. It seems like the thicker fence slides better. By that I mean the staps are thicker and the holes are smaller.

hey thanks, but could you post a picture of the stuff you used that was good? I think theres like 5 types at my local homedepot

Yeah i've been wondering this too. Speed is a bit of an issue with my setup. So im looking at the orange construction fencing. I dont feel like wasting money so can someone post a pic of the fastest or atleast faster then turf construction fencing?

Regular orange construction fencing slides pretty fast when sitting on wood, however when you put it on tur it doesn't help all too much because the turf sticks up through the holes and creates more friction. The idea of the construction fencing is to have a smooth surface that keeps your skis from touching whatever is beneath it. Even though it may not be very thick, if you think about it the fencing would still allow you to slide on top of it without your skis hitting the surface beneath, unless however turf is sticking up through the holes.

Might I suggest using lattice fencing instead. It is usually around 1/4" thick and slides much better than just plain old construction fencing.

I'm not saying get this specific kind, but this is basicially what it looks like, there are diffrent variations and sizes at various prices, but if you walk into home depot or lowes and ask for lattice they will know what you are talking about. I had speed issues with my turf last year, tried construction fencing, which failed miserably, then moved on to lattice and have not had any problems since. Slides super fast for my drop in, but you will probably still want turf on your take off so you can grip easier for spins.

Hope this helps.

Ahh I kinda gotta keep the turf. Cause where I set it up its kinda a public area with a hill. I dont have a drop in. I dont think just orange construction fence would be enough to my skis off of dirt and shit. Do you think I should try that lattice stuff on top of turf? Or just leave it how it is. (I made the tranny better so I think it'll work anyways now. +K to you

yeah just leave it how it is for now and test it out, if you still need speed id suggest getting some lattice and just laying it on top of the turf (that's what I had to do for my setup), it's really easy
