I have looked at some Orage stuff recently and realized that they charge a ton of money for so-so stuff. I mean, the Corp Jacket some guy is selling retailed at $390 and it only has 5,000 mm? what is up with that? And all their pants are like 5K or 10K for $250 or $260. Don't get me wrong, I like their stuff, but I could have sworn it used to be higher quality for that kind of money. I want to support the ski industry for sure, but why would I spend $390 on their jacket when I can get a 3-layer, full taped or welded Goretex jacket (which is equivalent to 45K waterproofing)?

Just food for thought. Come on Orage. Step it up with some 20K stuff.
 
that isnt true...their waterproofing is not at all the best.

any GoreTex jacket is better waterproofed.

HellyTech XP is better waterproofed.
 
I rock Siver Tacticals and an Orage Kris jacket. The Orage seems to have much better waterproofing and wind resistance.
 
You're right, they've gone way down, and even if they do look good I'd never pay a lot of money for a jacket that won't keep me dry in the PNW... the only explanation that I can come up with is that they're cheaper. But the Brigadier was such a tech, popular jacket that you have to wonder why they abandoned that thinking.
 
Check out Helly Hansen XP gear, it has really good waterproofing and won't break the bank like Orage will.
 
I have to cord one, it might as well be cotton. I love the outfit, but I can't wear it when it's precipitating.

I bought it because it looks cool, I have other stuff to wear when it's snowing or raining
 
You make not like it cause its a snowboard company, but Burton makes the best stuff out there at reasonable prices. You can't top Burton AK.
 
i had siver pants and the boot gaitors ripped out and the back pocket ripped off, same thing happened to my friends orage pants.
 
Next years Master's is 20,000mm. Gallery collection is anywhere from 5000 to 20,000 utilizing some of th sickest fabrics-Flat Cord, Herringbone tweed.

If you dont like and it was mentioned above----Go Support Snowboard Company's like Burton or 686 cause yeah they REALLy give a lot back to the ski side like an event like The Masters.
 
Enlighten us, please? I'm not really diggin what orage is doing anyway, Helly is where I'm most likely gonna put my money cause isn't their stuff pretty much guaranteed for life, or atleast a long ass time? And Helly's waterproofing is all 20/20k right?
 
yeah i have the orage master supply jacket and ridge print pants both are only rated at 5,000

the back pocket on the pants started riping after the second day on the hills. so i don't really think they are worth the money.

next year gonna go with helly or sessions i think

Anyway, it isn't hard to know what one is talking about when one sees the waterproofing ratings on their site. Isn't the quality and waterproofness the most important feature in outerwear? Of course I want to support a ski company, but again, why would I spend $100 more for half the waterproofing? Everyone buys Burton's stuff for a reason - it owns. At the beginning of the season you could buy the AK jacket and pants (both 20,000 mm) for about the same price as just the Corp jacket.
 
I was just going to buy some Orage, but I was kinda surprised by price even at end of season. What about FATE, I know owner and they are totally skier/american/pimps, is there gear good?
