OPUS, Rocker 2 115, Bent Chetlers, OR Caylors

Im looking for a powder ski but cant decide which one to get. I am leaning towards the Opus but cant find a good deal on them. I am 5,10 still growing and 135 pounds. It would be great if you could let me know your opinion on what ski is rite for me and what size.

Skiing style: I ski pow mostly, backcountry, trees, and resort, I huck cliffs maybe 20- 25 feet, want to be able to still hit back county kickers and whip double if possible. I guess they don't need to be good for kickers because i have other skis for that but it would be nice. Thanks for the help. Oh and if you find any good deals drop a link.

Fromm what I've heard the rocker 115 is based around charging while the 122 and the 108 are going to be better for tricks because they both have twin tips . As for a deal on the opus you can get the 11/12 model on al's ski barn for $750 with marker griffons

I'm going to have to throw in my vote for the bent chetlers. They are really nice and floaty, plus i think they have a really nice poppy feel.

i own bent chetlers and they are awesome but i hear such good things about the caylors here, they're definitely worth checking out.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I just got my Bentchets in the mail, and so far I'm loving standing on them in my living room.

Here are my vote for jibby pow skis that stomp it all.

Moment Night train (Backcoountry.com has a bunch in all sizes at 441.99 plus ship and tax)

I'd say go with one of these skis cause they sound exactly what you want.

A Multi use pow ski that can jib. And they are both top notch skis from small company's.

Both Moment and ON3P are proving you don't have to be the biggest to turn out the best skis.

Forgot to recommend your size. I'd say 178 for NT. And 181 For Caylors. Unless your on the brink of a big growth spurt or really really good powder skier. Then go 186 for NT. and 191 for Caylors.

"biggest company's ''

You would recomend a 191 for a guy who weighs 135lbs? Even if he gained 20lbs of muscle (which is a lot) in the next 4 to 5 months, he would still only be 155, which is a little light to be controlling that much ski. 181 would be fine.

If you have a problem floating with any of the skis mentioned, you need a good whack on the head. Otherwise it is a pretty eclectic mix of skis mentioned.

I ride Caylors as my everyday and the perform great for everything you described. There is a single page review of the Caylors ion the blog quoted in my sig. If you're looking for multipage review check blister. If you're set on Salomon the rocker2 122 would be a better choice than the 115, the is a review of the 2013 rocker2 122 in the blog quoted in my sig.

Overall however, I much prefer the Caylor to the rocker2 122, the stiffer flex really allows the Caylor to out perform the rocker2 122 in variable snow. When reading the rocker2 122 review take into consideration they were skied back to back with 191 Caylors.

Hope this helps, if you've got any questions regarding the review just pm me

183 bent chetlers or 185 opus. Skiied both loved both. Chetlers are stiffer and have more rocker though. Enjoy a pair of bent chetlers today! ;)

I've got the 185 Opus and I'm 5'8 155 lbs. They are the most fun ski I have ever ridden. Get the longest length - If I had the option, i'd gett he longer ski for myself too. They are so easy to rip.

I cant tell you what you want, but Ive owned both Caylors and Bentchetlers... and the latter is my favorite ski ever. I didnt like how stiff the Caylor was, and I like a little bit of camber underfoot. However, I felt like the Caylor was easier to ski sometimes? But that could just be the fact that I had 171s and my Atomics are 183... but also due to the fact that its an awesome ski. I dont think you can go wrong between the two. Thats my 2c.

they were, should have specified. they didnt make the 171 with metal in it when i had mine. i believe.
