Opinions on Full tilt to k2

I think it’s a stupid idea and probably going to be detrimental to boot sales. Personally I feel it’s weird to have k2 boots with let’s say atomic skis. sort of seems like a cross branding thing to me

Ya I feel like a Company dedicated to boots is a good thing there are not many companies that prioritize boots and that’s their main focus i can only think of a few brands like that and I think it’s sad that such a good brand that has don’t so much park is gonna be gone even if it’s gonna be the same boot in k2’s line up

K2 puts more money into their boot R&D than their ski R&D for the record. The Mindbender series were some of the best selling boots in the world last year…. Plus, K2 has always owned Full Tilt anyway. The only thing that is going to be different is the logo and the names of the boot models. People who are getting worked up over this are kinda overreacting. I get it, because I’ve skied Full Tilt for years and years, and I love the brand, but overall, it could be worse. They could’ve decided to just rank the brand and sell the molds, instead they’re gonna bring it under that much more direct supervision of our FUCKING BOY [tag=154780]@tomPietrowski[/tag] who we know will continue to do the product justice.

Ya that’s all true I wonder why k2 didn’t just have all their boots in the full tilt line up anyway why didn’t they just have the mindbender boots under full tilts name if they own all of it anyway

Coming from a being a bootfitter, this is on the of the greatest marketing moves ever! Yes the ski bum side of me is sad to see the name go but I can tell you right now this is only gonna benefit these boots! The amount of people who should be in a full tilt because it would fit their foot but won’t buy them because they think it’s a “park boot” is insane(mostly older people). Now that they say K2 on them people will think it’s a K2 boot, thus more people buying them, they make more money, they produce more badass boots, everyone wins! [tag=154780]@tomPietrowski[/tag] is already killing it with the boot game and I can assure everyone it’s only gonna get even better then you can imagine

This is the right answer. The market share that park kids think they contribute to is fucking vastly over calculated. Any kids they lose sales to over what is stamped on the boot will be more than compensated by people who avoided Full Tilt due to how it has been marketed.

I've seen the catalogue and there will still be tons of color options as well as pro models just like before. Any of the complainers will get over it once they realize they still want to ride them, even with a K2 logo.

The only thing I hate right now is explaining it to every other kid that comes in haha "oh man, are you sad about FT going away?!" Just like when Amer fully bought Armada and everyone thought Armada would become some stagnant non-freestyle brand.

Did you sign an nda or can you give us a peek?

I was wondering when Clem would show you. Stoked you are happy with the direction we went! Hopefully your shop conversations get easier when it becomes more public and it turns too when can I get them haha

I’d say although they’re still a freestyle brand, Armada has become pretty stagnant compared to what it used to be in my opinion.

To add to what Nasty said, most if not all of the athletes will be remaining on the team. Wallisch and Carlson have already been confirmed. And yes, the boots look sick as fuck for next year. [tag=109505]@bradwalters[/tag] and [tag=154780]@tomPietrowski[/tag] are the poster boys for kick ass product development.

Make the descendent shell not an absolute bucket, and actually ergonomic.

Give the desendent line a cuff height that is not on par with chukka boots

I've been pretty quiet on this topic because I would rather let people see the boots and make their own judgements instead of me telling everyone how rad they're going to be. It's too "look how cool my designs are!" for my personal taste. I will say this though...If anyone on here thinks Tom and I are about to let things get sleepy then you're mistaken. :)

#hype

That is an interesting one. The top two selling boots from full tilt used the fte shell so funnily it actually sells really really well. But the exciting part of all this for me is we get to do far more now then we ever had the opportunity to do when it was full tilt so I’ll just say there are exciting things to come.

I was wondering what people actually think about full tilt getting rebranded to k2 do people not care or is it better or worse?

It makes sense a lot of people think of Full Tilt as some extreme park boot but there not anymore with the plush and decendent to just name a few. The k2 name is known to way more people and more people will see what full tilt really is and how there not just park boots.

I’m very hyped to hear this. I don’t rock FTs bcs they hurt my feet but I really love the brand and how much they do for the park skiing community. Thanks for weighing in on this

i am really hyped to see what's next, Full Tilt are the best boots for old people to get in this boot but they won't buy it cause they think its not for regular skiing.

Also under the K2 Umbrella I believe there is more Budget for innovations and changes. Hope they keep the crazy colors and bring back Spaceports in different colors.
