Opinions on Fischer ranger 102?

I ski the northeast most of the time and I’ve been on the Black Crow Captis with shifts for a couple years now and looking for a new pair of skis. Is the Fischer ranger 102 a good ski for up here or do u recommend something else?

It's supposed to rip and hold a very good edge. It's not really a freestyle ski but you probably know that. I'm pretty sure there are reviews on blister.com and info on soothski.com

You want the one from last year...the ones that came in both pink and blue topsheets.

Next years rangers look sick. Only heard good things about the pink ones from previous years. Definitely closer to like a QST 106 type ski than freestyle

I demo'd next year's 190 rangers and really liked them. Super solid underfoot with good edge control, the shovels eat chop real well, the tip is relatively soft. They're definitely more freeride than freestyle. They added a metal mount plate in next years ski so if you really want to charge wait for those.

Believe it or not, not everyone rides park

Yeah but your asking a park based forum about a free ride ski.

It looks like you got answers, but I’d read up on some TGR forums or something. I bet they know more about these

I’ve seen a lot more than just park content on here, though I haven’t been on here long.. was jus lookin for opinions lmao

The old one was way better (the one where it was pink or blue, I think the last year of that was 2020/2021?). The new one was made way softer up front to make it more “accessible” so that “more people could enjoy it” (quotations from my rep) and now it sucks. Can’t be skied nearly as hard, doesn’t hold an edge nearly as well. This is my opinion not fact but as someone who does appreciate a great metal-ridden, directional ski, the new one is absolutely not it compared to the old one. Apparently the 108 is fantastic though, I have yet to ski it

That’s surprising to hear. I’ve never skied the pink ones but the rep told me they stiffened up the ski for next year

For 23/24 yes, compared to 22/23 (this year), they are stiffening it up but it’s still not as stiff as the old one
