Opinions on 05.06 stuff

I just recently got back from SIA. I know most of you have seen a bunch of pics of the new equipment and shit from companies and I was thinking you could all share your opinions.

I chilled with Ninthward most of the time I was there. We all know that they got their shit down when it came to skis, and they also had their first run of outerwear samples and already Campbell and Ben got their shit DOWN! For their first year @ sia AND ON the market, they took huge strides. In my opinion though, 4frnt took a step back. When it came to the MSP's, the graphics were really lame and simple, I wasn't too impressed with the STL's, and I was wondering how Vinnie D is ever gonna be able to push the VCT's considering he rode on Salomon 1080's @ like 161 occasionally. Armada was really tight although they're making poles not which doesn't seem logical considering Anthony Boronowski just started up Joystick. OAKLEY was lammmee. Their shit wasn't innovative at all and their outerwear was ugly. Orage always has their shit going, and Siver stepped it up too. Electric was probably the only goggle company that had something to show. Not too many ppl could get into the Quiksilver booth, but I managed to and let me tell you their shit is realll dope. What pisses me off is that EVERYONE is now doing argyle and its wayyy overplayed, companies like Ninthward had that shit going last year. I also don't like the new T-Halls and the brick writing that appears on them considering Ninthwards Butterlicious had that last year. I thought that overall the show was a disappointment. P.S. -- Special Blend is WHACK for stealing Grenades designs....lame-o

4FRNTs not taking a step back, they're taking a step in another direction, K2, Armada and Line seem to try to be going to the same place. Ninthward and 4frnt seem to be in their own worlds just doing their thing, I think thats tight, and thats why I like those companies so much.

Yeah Grenade is really sick, but I agree they definately need to step it up with their glove quality. 4frnt maybe doing their own thing, but you have to admit the graphics are really lame. Ninthward is doing their own thing and Campbell does all the graphics by hand. Their outerwear is so sick and crazy. When I saw the Orage shit it was really sweet. They got a fucking cuordoruy suit coming out. The only company I didn't get to see was Liberty. They didnt have a booth because SIA sold out, but they were walking around trying to get people to come up to their hotel room. Really determined, but kinda sketchy.

I think the new 4frnts are pretty chill. Simple, but good looking.

4frnts are better than any of the new race companies gear, but I havnt seen line or armada yet. Ninthwards are sick like usual.

most of the oakley stuff is kinda retro. pep had a dope jacket on at the open.

i highly doubt armada saw or is copying the ninthward thing. their poles are dope. their skis are dope. armada in general is the dopest shit out there.

the orage clothing is the hottest stuff out there.

Definitely excited about Armada this year, as well as Ninthward. Expecting big things from both of them. Agreed on the ugly MSP graphics, but I'd like to see how 4frnts binding turns out. Maybe Line's improved theirs as well. Not too stoked on them overall, but the new Chrons look great yet again.

any hav pics on the armadas, out of the skis i have seen the stl^s are by far the nicest, dissapointed in rossignol and salomon. head has improved a lot.

But if any of you have seen the armadas, the craziness could be compared to the line design. And yeah we all know that Armada is on a totally different level quality wise then line for sure. 4frnt said they changed some things on their bindings that make them better...they never really specify which things which makes me wonder. i just think their ugly and old-looking considering they are the old marker toe piece...oo well

I hope everyone agrees with me here when I tell TwinTipWonder that hes fucking way outta line with his comment. I put up this post so that people who weren't @ SIA could get a feel of what's coming out next year. Some kids appreciated it and I don't feel that I really criticized or hassled any specific company. It was more of a neutral review. So fuck off! P.S. -- Why would I fly from Jersey to Las Vegas for the show? For my own fuking personal enjoyment? FUCK NO! I obviously plan on exhibiting in the show next year or w/e soo please keep your mouth shut until you think about what your going to say.

I do have the Armada catalogue, and I could be a dick and scan it in so that everyone could see what they're coming out with, but that'd be soo dick. They totally redesigned everything;

-the Ar5 is soo whack its supper doope

-the Jp vs Julien is nice, but the larger size, the ANT designed by Boronowski is nicer.

-the ARV is basically the same, same design idea put it really looks like a piece or expensive art.

-the AR3's are design by an artist called madsteez and the name says it all

-the T-Hall pros are exactly the same only a reversal of colors and a rip-off of Ninthwards brick writing

-the ARW's are whack and kinda like the ar3's but that have dudes on them

-the poles are cool looking and u can switch handles on them, but it doesnt make any sense because boronowski just started joystick

-they expanded their apparel line A LOT w/ track jackets and stuff

-they're also making ski bags that have wheels for travel and stuff...reallly nice

i dont know about the rest of you, but Armada holding out and making everyone wait for pics seems like they think they are all high and mighty. now, they probably do have some of the nicest stuff out there, but making everyone wait to see it is a pretty asshole move.

^it is not an asshole move, it is a smart business move. Designers are crawling around the show looking for ideas and anyone can steal anything and still have it ready for the fall.

In fact I think they are sick as hell. And do you really think that Armada copied off of Ninthward....bahahahahaahaha. Man that is some funny shit. ok so designers are crawling around the show looking for ideas. just cause people cant see pictures, doesnt mean these designers cant look at a damn ski and remember it. plus they've given out brochures for next season already. this isn't about keeping a secret for business purposes, this is about hype, plain and simple.

veteran^, for clothing and outerwear especially it is about secrecy. Maybe for ski companies there are different reasons. Sure there is a hype factor, but there is an insane amount of competition in design. I have been at the SIA show for 5 years now. I know how this shit works.

I think Armada should be careful becuz it could get to over hyped like Wski and no matter how good it is ppl will be expecting more but thats just my opinion.

And idk if n e one else mentioned it but the new 1080 boots are pretty fuckin sick!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

I'm not threatened by 4frnt whatsoever. I don't dislike 4frnt, I just thought their graphics were really lame. 4frnt is on a totally different level than me...them along with Armada are wayy up there now with international sales, etc. I don't have a problem with the actual skis, there are no doubts that they are really solid skis...i like them, not the graphics, and I don't like the bindings deal. I didn't know it was a crime to state opinions

i think the MSP graphics are great. not every ski needs soldiers in the ghette or 10,000 flying ninjas. simple is better in my opinion.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

personally i think the 4frnts graphics are sick... but thats just my opinion, i also think it doesn't really matter what armada does with withholding their graphics, i dont' think it will have that big of a dent on their sales one way or the other, because a lot of kids don't actually see the skis until they get to their shop...

Defi, get your shit straight and stop dissing companies on your crap information. The new 4FRNT binding is NOT the old Marker binding and has absolutely NOTHING to do with Marker.

The Armada T-Hall's look NOTHING like last year's Ninthward's.

The new 4FRNT graphics are dope and original considering everyone else is doing the SAME thing!
