What's your opinion on paying for highschool education? Private & Prep schools. How many of you go/went?

I myself went and it was the best experience of my life.

i went to public K-8 and a private high school.. i liked it a lot, and im sure it helped me get into a better college.

people tried to start a charter school here so it would have been free. my mom wanted me to go because she thinks that our public high school is not good enough even though people who graduate have gotten into many good colleges including stanford. i didnt want to go because none of my friends would be there so it would suck. but the school got turned down so it never happened.

private highschools are retarded.....my parents made plenty of money to send me to a prep school, but i'm glad they didnt. i go to a private college, but its college.

 
I went to a private school.. I liked it for awhile. but it got boring really fast. i also think i didnt end up liking it because i entered at the beginning of highschool. i do believe it is a better system that public. the class sizes are smaller and you tend to have better qualified teachers. but i think kids should be entered at a young age. it is too much of a 'culture shock' when entered later. but u really need to be careful of what school you choose we paid 11 thousand a year, it wasnt worth it

My private school is crazy. So much fun. I go back to my public school once in a while and i cant stand it. But i guess it helps that i go to a ski academy where you can ski every day...

i went to catholic k-8 and public high school. i am glad i didnt go to the catholic hs because most people that i know that came out of their have had major problems. drugs not just reefer are a large problem at private schools.

after 12 years of going to private school, i have finally perfected the pleated skirt look. i make pleated skirts look HOTT! i go to catholic school and personally i like the small atmosphere where everyone knows everyone.

i go to a k-12 christian school...i think its the best learning atmosphere because you know the teachers and its a small class..but my school is super strict which gets really annoying. my latin teacher is a huge freeski fan tho hehe....shes like 50 and has an armada sticker on her minivan..we watched slopestyle in class..

well to keep it real I started being a Poser Poser. I dress and act like a poser, but i'm not really a poser. I just pose to look like a poser posing. you know just keepin it underground

Yeah, i've been going to a private school since 7th grade, because the public ones suck in Duvall WA. Its good but its SHELTERED. some people at our school are so sheltered its scary. Private schools do have a lot of rich parents too, and our administration is too saturated with money to really be effective. Nobody gets shit done.

Food is a lot better, smaller classes, better chances to work harder and learn college stuff, but past that, its small and sheltered. They're not for everyone, and just because you go to one doesnt mean you will be accepted to Harvard or something. Public schools actually turn out more people to go to IV leauge schools. Just an opinion.

I looked into transfering to a private school at the beginning of the year. Mainly because my current public school is huge. A private school is a lot more personal, you can access the teachers more easily. Plus, the schools I was looking at I could ski or sail nearly everyday. Personally I think it really depends on the student. If you need/or want a more personal experience it is worth it. I am not saying it's a better education then a public, but different type of experience. Personally, I think I would better off at a private school, but why I didn't go is a long story. I still might go for a PG if I don't get into the colleges I want, but I am not totally sure.

Ive gone to private school (GO P.C.) grade 4 and im graduating this June. I havent known anything else so my opinion would be very bias. I dunno there are times when I love the small environment (there are 450 of us from JK to OAC)and other times when it drives me crazy casue I wish the teachers would just get off my case about shit. I guess it all depends on the person we had 6 people leave my school in Oct. cause they didint like and they only started in Sept... but ya thats me..

i go to a public school, id rather go to a private school, cuz i am a lazy bastard and the teachers never push me in my classes to do my work...so i don't, but in a private school, i hear they push you a lot more and they teach better, and i wouldnt mind it in that sense.

I go to an all guy private prep school... and honestly it isn't that bad. not having chicks around has its advantagess and its disavanatages. Private school isn't for every one, but I personally like it.

 
one of my friends went off the RCC in toronto in septembermhe was hopin their was gonna be lots of chicks there but when he got there,he realized there was about 4 girls and all the rest of the guys were all pokemon nerds

Yeah, when I was a sophomore there was soooo much coke there it was ridiculous. And E, too.

It was just rich kids with expensive drugs.

Back then in the good old days (4-5 yrs ago, ha!)We used to drop acid before school and tailgate up in the church parking lot. what the fuck happened to connellsville?

 
it sucks. you don't even understand how much that school blows now. it's like a fucking jail. you can't walk around the halls without this little passbook they give you and if you lose it, too fuckin bad, you can't carry around water or anything, and the drugs suck.....exept for lil 1's nuggets

Ya it wall went downhill after that year...You gotta get in with halfhill and prutz. I spent my entire senior year sleeping in the library, it makes it alot easier if you just sleep through it.

Im trying to bring some really good shit home in about a week, but I dont have the loot. You should talk to some peeps and get something together and you can go in with me.

ive never gone to public school. private school for everything.. and im going to a private college too. I just think the learning experience is better. Even though i dont think we do as much work as our public school in our classes, i think the quality of the learning experience is alot better.

yeah i'm going to a private college as well. the student body isn't much bigger than my high school. another cool thing about private schools is the uniform. b/c i can wake up late and not have to worry about what to wear. u get used to those skirts. they become very comfortable.

i went to a private school, 4-7. for free. a 15,000$ school for free. But i left to go to public school. this is my 2nd year their and i like it much better. theres cooler kids for 1, and also the experience is just so much better. It just feels better to go to school in my community.

I would however go back to private school if i would go to some really really good private school. Like Phillips Exeter. But even still, p ublics the way to go. I know from experience.

I went oakland public schools for k-8, which I enjoyed. then catholic high school was even better, great teachers, great people and we kicked everyone's ass at everything. now huge public university and I love it. just peaches and cream

 
i wanted to go to private school just so i could play hockey. back then i would've given up skiing if i could've been a hockey player. but my parents couldn't afford it.
