Just wondering what kind of stuff people are pulling this winter! It's fairly early in the season, but what kind of stuff have you been pulling off so far??

when does everyone realistically think there home mountain will open?

snow predictions are high again for the right coast so hopefully killington can open super early again.

i have a cool signature
 
im guessing out here on the west coast we generally need more snow, to cover cliff faces and the steeper slopes..so probably thanksgiving weekend.

Im hoping that K-Mart (killy) will be open Oct. 31 again, but if not, I will find somewhere to ski. Killy isnt even my home mountain, but i will travel to find snow!

Sundown usually opens early to mid-December. Before that I chill at Killy and Okemo....

since places in the midwest need such little coverage as long as we get like a week of below freezing weather my hill will open so im guessing the weekend before thanksgiving.

Well when we (connecticut boys) get dumped on in late October we'll be rippin it up. You stupid left coasters have to wait for natural snow?! suckers!. No, I dunno. Hopefully Killy opens pretty early, as shitty as it is early season, at least were riding.

 
well last year boreal opened on october 11, but then closed a week later. most places around tahoe will open the first week or 2 in november. but keep your fingers crossed for earlier.

 
Yo boyz we should all meet up at killy the first weekend its open and build a kicker and huck. That would be quite tight, what do you guys think?

places around ontario can open anywhere between November 24th to Boxing Day (Decmeber 26th). I'm hoping for another November 24th Opening, but two years in a row they didn't Open till Boxing Day, can you imagine having X-mas without even gone skiing once at your hill cuz it's not open.

But I actually have a plastic spoon in my pocket, so I should be all right.

Hopefully snow will fall early like it did last year, and I'll be skiing the 1st or 2nd week in November.

opening day here at mammoth is november 8th, but if its like last year, we will be skiing before halloween on our ghetto rails with 2 feet of snow

Killington, skiing on the 'rime' hopefully on Halloween this season.

Sunday River, early November, depending on wet-bulb temperatures. I am not sure if we are going to try to open American Express on Spruce Peak for the first trail, we tried it last season but we didn't have good temps early season so we just opened T2 on Locke. Hopefully AMEX will open first this season, it's a better trail however it doesn't have the advantage of the mid-station and has a lower base elevation which makes it harder to make snow.

Wachusett: Before Thanksgiving.

And ooh yeah, Okemo blows ass. Good park, sucky mountain. So many better alternatives to that flat, easy mountain. No challenging terrain!

We usually open a little before thanksgiving. The park isnt open until Mid-December though :(

Well this year I finally have a good mountain to call home. Anyone else here moving to Whistler this year?

 
Well the resort that is closest to my house (Loveland, CO) is consistently the first North American resort to open, ususally around Oct. 15 meaning less than 2 months left until I can ski!!

 
i hope we are open by december. sometimes there wont be any snow till 1/2 way through december where i ski.

Since i live in shitty northern ontario, i am probably not going to get on the hill until around the second or third week of december.

As for what i'll be throwing, i am not really sure. I was pulling fronts with about 75% success and backs with about 50% success so i'll be working on those. In the pipe i am hoping to learn how to do some flatspins and McTwists, but it all depends on how good (or shitty) our halfpipe is this year.

Last year, it was horrible.

I think I am stupid. I cannot seem to get a post to happen. Anyway, attempt number two. It has been snowing above 13,000 feet in Summit County every day for two weeks, almost. Each time the clouds clear there is snow on the peaks - wettest August since I had that 15 year-old girlfriend. Copper is supposed to open November 1st - they are trying to be the first this year. They should have a pipe within a week of that. How does pipe training over Thanksgiving sound to you all? Keystone, Breck, and Vail shold be soon after. I do not know about you, but I cannot wait. And all the new movies in the next 3 weeks or so won't help.

Realistically, mid december in Western New York. But Thanksgiving is always possible.

well CT does suck for natural snow, but they'll be makin it in november maybe at sundown. when does squaw usually open? cause im goin out to cali during thanksgiving to visit some relitives.
