Opening Day?

Anyone heard when abay and loveland are supposed to open? Iv heard rumors of between the 10th and 15th, wondering if someone has more concrete info, im getting way to excited i just cant take it anymore
 
there isnt anything solid yet...they started making snow last week around the time of the first storm, but then most of it melted. i drove by there on wednesday and it was patchy and there was still some snow from the last storm sticking around, but not a crazy amount.
i suspect their guns have been on since wednesday night though, it's been cold as fuck up here. 10th-15th wouldnt be a bad prediction, esp since i think they opened on the 13th last year and it didnt get this cold this early last season.

Looks like they are starting to get some coverage, but they'll need at least one more good storm.

I think its supposed to snow a couple times up there in the next week...
 
a couple different weather sites have predicted snow over at a-bay for 6 of the next 10 days and overnight lows in the snowmaking territory every night
the webcams today were starting to show pretty sick coverage all the way at the base on this year's Ribbon of Death...at least 2-3 times as much as a couple days ago
if they get on their shit, i predict they could open on the 10th just based on what im seeing...if not, then the following weekend no doubt
does anybody know if they would open on a weekday instead of a saturday?
 
loserland is probably gonna be as usual and drop a half hour before abay but not tell anybody theyre doing it. give it to us dam it! we deserve it.
 
do you work at a-bay or something?
if so, is there any way in hell my vail resorts employee pass will work on opening day? my supervisor said they're probably not gonna let us in without buying a lift ticket
 
i do not work for vail thank god. thats just what usually happens every so often.

and i dont think you can. they black them out for some stupid reason. i think. abay isnt technically owned by vail, so its wack like that.
 
yeeeeeeah but i remember last season they said that our passes would be good through the following october...the reason being that so is the EPIC pass if you renew it, and because everyone who's returning doesnt get their pass until like the beginning of november, so they should be allowed to ski before that...
but then i hear that A-bay isnt going to honor that, at least not on the first day, which is fucking lame...there's no way ill be able to get first chair if i have to buy a ticket at the window
im fucking going to loveland i guess...
 
word, im not gonna jib that much for the first couple weeks while im still getting back in shape though...im trying to get 150+ days this season and i have a couple old injuries i would like to keep in check at least through january if possible, i have a bad tendency to blow my shoulder out and i dont want to end myself on some dumb early season feature
but yah, as long as i have to pay i think im gonna go there, do the grocery stores still do the cheap tickets for super early season?
 
How much of a notice do they normally give for opening day at A basin? I"m in utah and have to take off work to go ride, didn't they have a count down or something last year?
 
Well seeing as how opening day at the bay has been around the 15th for the past two years....I'd say it will open around then give or take a day or two.
 
yea, friday is most likely going to be the day. i still didnt even buy my pass. got to do it thursday haha.
 
you guys have to realize that they need more than snow to open. they need employees and they also have to get the lifts going.
 
friday could happen. not really looking like it but ive been gettin sloshed with a lot of pip's and shit lately. what i shouldve said is

"we are trying hard as fuck non stop, friday is possible"

2 years ago they opened on the 10th i think. thats a fuzzy year though.
 
How much are tickets at loveland, gonna try to get up thursday for a half day if i can, if not abasin saturday sunday monday!!
 
Ya does anyone know if loveland is doing preseason deals??? Like supermarket deals or whatever? 46 bucks isnt bad but ya know....
