Opening day thread.

I think both Bird and Alta open Friday, actually. PC said it will just be First Time, 3 Kings, and Payday. Im probably headin to 'Bird Saturday.

piss out my ass. why isnt the canyons opening?

one would think it would be easier for them to over PC? simply because you can download off 2 gondolas. meaning they dont have to blow snow all the way back to the village.

inb4 everyone hates on the canyons, i dont give a fuck. :)

pretty sure they are opening saturday too... not totally sure.

one reason everyone was hating on them was cause last year their opening day was a month later than everywhere else...

Sounds like opening day might be a little taste of full on winter. High of 28 with 5 inches possible over night, not too bad.

Canyons opens next week (can't remember if it's Fri or Sat).

SoliBright- already open

AltaBird- Friday

PC- Saturday

Canyons- I think 25th/26th

DV- 12/4

Not sure when PowMow or Snowbasin are spinnin

yeah their planned date is friday the 25th. unfortunately ill be back in the frozen flatness of MN for thanks giving. haha

I'm headed down there tomorrow. I'll be skiing Saturday and Sunday. Where would be the best resort for some good pow? Last year when I was at alta it got chewed up pretty quickly, maybe just cause I didn't know where to go.

Brighton had good pow that stayed all day but hardly any of the mountain was open so we kept on the same runs all day.

So what do you guys think?

If pretty tough for a resort to open when no one who runs it has any idea what they're supposed to do.

pc opening day is going to be a shit show with all of thr new snow. stoked to ski the few days after the storm

Yeah and with only Payday, 3Kings, and First Time running... I live 3 blocks from PCMR but Im headin to the Bird instead

Well i feel like there's going to be a lot more open than usual on the first day. It looks like Payday run, Treasure Hollow, Homerun, 2 runs off 3 Kings, the trail from first time to Payday, and maybe first time run. usually its just homerun. last year was the first year that 3 kings was open first day...

the skiing on that one lift at the bird will still be better than any of the terrain at pc...

I don't understand why our regionals have to be the most competitive. I'm stoked chairs will be running. I'm not stoked to be the one making those chairs running on opening day at pc. The park aughtta be pretty sick from what i'm hearing though, plus hotlaps just got faster.

yeah, if i would have gone skiing today i would have gone to brighton but i did go skiing today. Fucking idiot, it ALWAYS snows more in BCC/LCC and i would never chose to ski pow at pc over brighton. Go fuck off.

weeoww! tranny findin an' mini jibs at brighton again today, got my PC lined up for some epp park shred tomorrow! lookin up to be a fun sleason.

Alta was blower pow goodness. My buddy went a little too hard and f'ed up his ankle after hitting a rock, but all in all it was an incredible day. Patrol just posted low coverage signs and let everyone have at it on everything under Collins/Wildcat.

indeed. a few side-stash pow turns in the morning, then an amazing opening day park in the afternoon. I wish they wouldn't have groomed Payday though, there would have been a decent amount of snow there...
