Opening dating: will it happen?

you would be surprised. last year we were in this exact same position and they were able to blow enough snow to open with a very fun jib line.

i dont know its been really clear lately and the weather people havent said anything about a huge storm thats comin i hope it opens on time i just dont think its very likely

alta hasnt been blowing for a while now. but there is still wicked snow. shit, just yesterday i had some awesome turns through upper ballroom. snow was so sick still! saw some mini 12 year old shred the hell out of main chute!

they haven't made snow at alta since that big dump around oct 20th, and that was just to check the guns. I guarantee that Alta will not open with a white ribbon of death, that's just not how they do business, alta's all about ski enjoyment.

the snow at PC isn't that good and has been melting. Unless this storm delivers big time, i'm thinking opening dates will be pushed back everywhere.

For the past week or so there has only been about a six hour window at night in which temperatures are low enough to make snow.

but the season will be here, remember a bad year in utah is still an above average year in most other states.

I hope at least one resort will open and have something to do because im tired of hearin about resorts in the east and colorado open. it makes me sad

But on top of that, it could be clear for the next two weeks, as long as the temps drop lower so we could blow snow more than 4 hours a night we could still open on time.

But I want a good dump. need to put the new skis to use.

i'm kinda nervous. I have 3 friends visiting from CO and Indiana. I would feel terrible if my friends left CO to come ski here on thanksgiving weekend, and we weren't even open. that would suck.

It's happening up at Alta... Albion basin was Green/brown earlier. it's sorta white right now... I hope it doesn't stop.

ya it looks like it is snowing at alta from there web cam...It has been mostly all rain with a few snow showers up here at parleys summit, hopefully it turns over to all snow soon

Yeah I was at Park City earlier today and it was all rain but it was starting to get a little colder so hopefully it turns to snow and PC can open on time or close to it

i think they made snow on dividend, i dont know if they will be able to get any type of park together in time...

they will have boxes i will still be happy if they dont i just wanna ski. there are places on the side build little back flip jumps it is always fun

Alta is officially calling off the opening day on the 15th.

Now saying they'll open pending snow conditions.

At least I'll have time to bank some cash for my pass upgrade.

That's pretty much every resort right now, As soon as we and they can blow enough snow to make a good run, they'll open those limited runs. The long range, not that people really go by it... was saying a really dry november with a moist and above average moist mid december to february. But the last time I looked at that was 4 weeks ago...

This is kinda depressing........ and I feel terrible for anyone who planned opening day trips.....

including the 5 people visiting me this weekend. Fucking weather. i'm moving to CO.

damm im heading down on the 20 hopefully some stuff will happen

possible snow fall friday and saturday i think
