Opening dates

I need to decide if I'll be riding my new Caylors or my Rockers..

Hopefully we get a miracle storm come through on the 18th.

so I should go to work and not call in sick?
any word on the shore mountains? I heard the 27th for seymour. is that bogus?

Well, it's still skiing. Though I think Saturday will be good enough, not like there is going to be pow you're missing out on (unless there is a drastic change in the forecast). No idea whatsover on the north shore mountains.

ah, decisions...on the 20th I am technically working too, although I'll just be sitting at Seymour listening to my other boss talk about skiing and safety policies. oh well, we will see how the weekend pans out.

Gave the snowphone a call, and apparently there could be up to 40cm of snow falling between now and Friday.

It's pouring on the North Shore, so I can definitely see some heavy snow in the forecast.

it's nine degrees here right now. So have a feeling that the locals and the lower half of whis are getting rain. It is supposed to drop to 2 degrees for thurs/friday though which will be sick if the rain keeps up!

Freezing levels around 1500-1650 metres now. That's not great (mid Red/Green chairs), so ya it's raining. However, they look to be dropping to 1100 by tomorrow night (Olympic station) and then to the surface by Wednesday night. After that we could see up to 40cm of snow by Saturday morning. It won't really be a pow day for opening, but hopefully it's decent.

With regards to the park, usually they have a couple rails/boxes set up at opening.

yea with this new snow and so much on their table as it is it seems to be likely that they will neglect much of the park. But when there is pow ppl shoudlnt be in the park anyway.

In regards to my marks and overall health, it would be nice if I could turn off this stoke until the weekend. But that's not possible. ONLY A COUPLE DAYS AWAY WOOOOO
Glad to see the freezing levels on their way down for the weekend too

They're always giant for the first couple days.

It'll probably be far busier on the Saturday than the Friday.

The weather forecast is looking great for a possible early start this weekend! Snow is expected to start to fall Tuesday night and continue on until Friday night. 50cm of snow is forecasted with excellent snowmaking weather following the snowfall. We will try to open as much terrain as conditions allow, so stay tuned the website for further details as we approach the start of our 27th Winter Season!about an hour ago · Like · Comment

From the WB facebook page.

"Over 30cm fresh overnight and it's still falling. It's shaping up to be a great opening day!"

Zomg it might be a deepish opening day.. maybe

The snow report page is up. Forecast looks nice. And I'm liking the 105cm depth at mid mountain. Wonder how much they have up in the alpine... mmmmmmm

Jesus christ, look at the newest photo added to facebook.

Taken about 30 minutes ago and the guy is drowning in snow. Now I'm actually considering the Caylors for tomorrow.

I'll be on Wrenegades, but they are my rock skis. They may be some good pockets up there, I just hope they aren't all gone by Saturday (of course the will be). Also, goddam it is going to be cold Sunday/Monday!
