When: Saturday, December 6, 2008

Details: Awards for 14 and under and 15 and over male and female divisions. With only a $15 entry fee this is perfect for intermediate and advanced snowboarders and freeskiers. First of four contests. If you are under 18 you will need a parent's signature.

Open Season < Thanksjibbing < Rails to Riches

Thanksjibbing was cheap to enter, and didnt require a lift ticket (open season is 15+ a lift ticket with no cash prizes). Everyone who wants to compete is headed to rails to riches.

Thanksjibbing was lots of fun, open season isn't worth the drive and money. I would be going to rails to riches but its way to expensive for an event I have no chance in placing in.

 
honestly i thought what loon did was really fucking gay..

what is the point of having 2 rail jams.. same exact set up.. 2 weekends in a row? 15 bucks is pretty damn expensive for a small jib-park jam (5 or 10 is much more like it)..

i drove 2.5 hours to loon yesterday.. no idea that there was going to be another rail jam there.. just hiking the jibpark when this park guy comes up to me and asks what my number was for the rail jam.. i said i didn't have one.. but that all i wanted to do was hike, not trying to win any prizes or anything.. and wanted to hit something else than those 2 shitty flat boxes.. he understood completely and said it was fine.. then a few minutes later some chief park guy flips out.."YOU CAN'T BE HERE.. YOU HAVE TO LEAVE"

to me it just looks like loon is trying to make bank off these rail jams.. and they definitely are because there was a shit load of kids at both thanksjibbing and open season. and btw that first flat box of the two was so sketchy.. i saw dozens of people catch the beginning of the box because the lip was so low.

anyways.. it says on their site that theyre gonna have jumps up next weekend so i'm guessing LMP will have some jumps and rails
 
Loon park staff sucks this year. They just snowboard past the boxes watching people eat shit beacause the takeoffs suck. And then they concentrate on having two rail jams that are exactky the same and are a complete rippoff.
 
1. loon park staff does not suck, they will have the best park in the east again this year (hands down)2. those flat box lips were fine all day...do u expect them to rake them ever 5 minutes because that's about how long it takes for them to get torn up3. yes the 2nd comp sucked but oh well...cry about it or don't enter
 
I didn't do it, having the same setup as thankjibbing was lame. Jumps next weekend will be fun, hopefully Loon will get their act together and have another killer season!!
 
Mount snows park crew is constantly raking and fixing the lips of all of the boxes and rails and theyre super cool guys and girl...big ups to them
 
First time I saw them I thought they would be nasty. I feel bad for the other kids that have the lethal decent suit, too bad they get associatied with the others.
