They've developed a very strong amateur scene close to skateboarding which skiing hasn't really seen until the past few years (at least what I've seen). There's street cut after street cut coming from their community and shit and it seems like skiing just takes everything cool from snowboarding and makes it for themselves so we're always a few years behind. There's nothing wrong with the skiing community cause in my opinion it looks a whole lot cooler and more diverse than boarding but their community as a whole is "cooler" and more rider / park focused than skiing. Most people haven't even taken a peek at what boarders have to offer so they immediately downvote my post.
